What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning JB. Hope all goes well at the hospital. Sorry about the long commute. How you do that is beyond me. I think it's the stress of having to drive all over the place that is causing your heart rate issues, (I say that as a joke, but I sincerely hope that you get it figured out and that everything is okay.
I had a good weekend. Bugsy got snipped on Friday and I'm having a heck of a time keeping him calm and relaxed. The cone that we got at the vet was so huge, so I went and bought him a blow up collar, which really is much better and does the trick. He seems to be healing well, and is back to his crazy, fiesty, annoying puppy self.
So, I had my plastic surgery consult last week, and was worried about financing. I believe I've figured that all out now, so it's just a matter of waiting until the financing comes through, which should take about a month or so. I still have another consult this next weekend, so I'm looking forward to that and then to scheduling. My hubby is going to have WLS sometime this year, and his surgery is definitely going to be more of a priority, so I'd like to wait and see where he stands with that before I decide on a date. We can't both be down for the count at once. We need at least 6 weeks between either surgery.
JBQOTD: I have an old basic digital alarm clock. It is not a clock radio, it's just the basic thing that does that annoying beeping, in a loud and obnoxious manner. I would probably be lost without it. My hubby hates it, because it DOES have a snooze button, and I use it at least once every weekday morning, lol.
21 months since surgery
B: 2 eggs, 1oz mozzarella and coffee with SF coffeemate
L: Leftover baked cod and chicken vegetable soup I made yesterday
D: Grilled chicken and asparagus
S: Carbmaster yogurt and Premier Protein Bananas and Cream. 3 mini sweet red peppers.
Totals:
Calories 966 Protein 134 Carbs 26 Fat 42
PS. I hope your achilles heals quickly. definitely try to take it easy. My hubby is back up and moving, and is supposed to go back to work next Monday, but he's not moving fast, so we will see how much he can actually do. He sees his surgeon on Friday and should get a script for PT.

Hope your crazy ass long drive today around Boston is uneventful and you get home safe & sound!!
I sure hope that ankle is better by the weekend so you are not hobbling around Paris and airports!
QOTD: I have a sunrise clock. My alarm is set for 5am and the "Sun" starts to rise at 4:30am so I am usually out of bed before 5am as the light wakes me up, I love this clock. Got it off Amazon. If I sleep through the sunrise the alarm is this soft musical tone that the only way I can describe it is like steel drum sounds, but really soft and light, not jarring at all. Also like others our dogs seem to have internal alarm clocks, they get us up at 5am as well, don't know how they do it but they know its 5am!
I am trying to eat "clean" so as to not upset my gallbladder and have another attack, it sucks. Those of you who have had gallbladder attacks/had yours out already know this but google what foods cause gallbladder attacks, well its pretty much everything we are supposed to eat post surgery. Here is the list of foods to "avoid" if you have gallbladder attacks: eggs, pork (bye bye bacon), fowl (turkey & chicken), dairy (milk, cheese, cream, butter), artificial sweetener (hello Splenda!), spicy food (majority of my foods are spicy), coffee (again with the coffee!!), red meat, come on, I need red meat and other stuff as well but I am frustrated!
So today I am eating tuna for breakfast & lunch, salmon for dinner, and Skyr yogurt for snack & half an apple with some PB in the evening.
Vitamin patches are on, liquids is 4 coffee limit then I switch to decaf and lot of ice water with a splash of diet cranberry juice. Exercise, 5km walk at lunch, 5km run at the gym tonight and another 5km hike with the dogs after dinner.
Have a great start to your week everyone!

That "what not to eat" list is my worst nightmare! All the food! Good for you for not falling into a pile of crackers. I am pretty sure I would be tempted...

trust me I am so temped to just eat crap like popcorn, Doritos, chocolate, ugh, looks like water and I are BFFs now!
Another new avatar! Fancy!
If I couldn't eat red meat, pork, fowl, or dairy, I'd have to make definite plans for my Viking funeral.
