New to OH but 9 years out and came for the support

I am new to OH ... had my Gastric Bypass (RNY) 9 years ago in May of 2008.
I lost 130 lbs and was at goal. From day 1 I took the surgery as a once in a life time opportunity and a second chance. That feeling stuck with me for a long time and I maintained my weight within 5 lbs for 7 years. Exercising 5 yo 7 days a week. job struggles and stres**** 2 years ago and I began to not have time in the morning for exercising.... that followed with a more relaxed eating plan and some junk came in. Gained like 20 lbs . Well in Dec 30 2016 the job ended. Being home . I got my weight pretty low before so I kept telling myself I looked ok. Fooling myself.
two weeks ago I started back to basics and exercising... I have lost 4 lbs... seems so slow with never cheating or eating over 1250 calories. I am sticking with it
and came here for support since no support group in my area that I have found yet.
thanks for listening to my story. I feel good and determined to get the regain back off
i would do the surgery all over again. No regret s. My only complaint is reactive hypoglycemia. Not constant and mainly bad if I misbehave.

I have had regain and lost it several times since I had surgery in 2007. I am content with losing a pound a week.
Sometimes it is more and that is a bonus. But I know that I no longer have the gift of malabsorption. What I put in is going to be absorbed.
You are on the right path. My advise is to weigh daily and always know where you are. It is easy to get off track if you don't.
Losing a job is a big blow to your life. Interviews are hard and you have to remember that you will get an offer. I hope it is soon. Keep up with what you are doing and you won't be disappointed.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
I feel for you and in a similar boat myself. I have re-gained 30 lbs. in the last 3 years (combination of multiple surgeries taking me out of commission for exercise and eating too much). So I re-dedicated 3 weeks ago and starting to see results.
Just taking it one day at a time and reminding myself I'm human and make mistakes :) I'm 10 years out this August.

Thanks and Good Luck to you as well. I have been telling myself 36 lbs (since I lost 4 lbs) is not that bad compared to where I came from. I can do this!! Just was a wake up the past 4 months when I put 20 more on top of my 20 I had! which was done over a longer period of time. It is so easy to put on when not being in control.
Congrats on your 10 years... it is amazing! Time went fast!
Best to you and have a good week!
Welcome!
I'm still pretty new at all of this, but I know you'll find great advice and support here! You can, and will do this!

Hello... Best of luck to you in the job market, go in with a positive attitude and own it. You will be surprised at how that will make you feel and how receptive your interviewers are.
I had RNY 8/22/2002 and totally understand what you're talking about. Stress is terrible (work or personal stress), remember to take time for you and smell the roses or whatever... Lol. I recently gained 40 myself and just getting back on track. I lost my Mom almost a year ago and that along with work stress and just not caring, caused my weight gain, after all food is our comfort right? Keep yourself in check and keep us posted! I can't weigh every day, if I do I don't see the results fast enough.
You got this!!! Lots of us in the same boat, padding up steam!

thanks Cheryl.
I am sorry for your loss. You are right about food as our comfort that or shopping
for me.
2002 you have done well!!!
I am sipping my water trying to get in my 4 bottles - 64 ounces.... I remember I used to get in 6 bottles 16 oz each can't seem to do that right now and not be up 5 times times a night.
Thank you, I have bad days and good. This weight fight is a never ending challenge as you know. I don't get enough water and that is a new goal of mine... Ugh! I try to stop drinking an hour before I go to bed and I've been doing better (only once a night lately instead of 3 or 4), I get thirsty at night so I sip a tiny bit if needed.
