What's on your Sunday menu RNYers?
Morning!
Its still raining off and on, but at least the rain fall warning has been canceled, which hopefully means relief soon for those in flooded areas.
we ended up going to see guardians of the galaxy 2 yesterday. Then tried spending some gift cards that are burning a hole in my pocket, but no luck.
I did however try on a pair of size 18 no stretch denim jeans! And they fit! Wild! That was probably the highlight of my day hahaha.
Today I think I'm going to go to the fabric store and pick some fun material to make some spring/summer throw cushions, and if I'm feeling confident, material for curtains for the spare room!
Also, meal planning. I've been in a bit of a rut foodwise, so I think I'm going to push myself to try a bunch of new recipes this week!
qotd: Whats an area of your post op life you need to work on? Since returning to work, mine is definitely exercise. Other than walking the dog, I haven't really done much of anything. I need that to change.
I'm also not great with water lately. I still hit my target most days, but that's only because I spend my evening catching up, and my nights making trips to the bathroom....
Menu:
B: premiere protein
L: leftover rotisserie chicken
D: depends on meal prep
have a good one!

Good Morning Insert Fitness and Menu Family!
QOTD: I've been doing better about waiting 30 minutes after eating before drinking since I bought a kitchen timer. If I remember to set the timer on top of my water mug it keeps me from unconsciously grabbing a drink before the time is up. I am at my goal, but I set my goal pretty high and would like to lower it and lose some more weight. But I need to lower my calories and maybe do an CAMAW week. I'm really unhappy with all the loose skin I have and even though I said I wouldn't do plastic surgery at my age (60), now I'm kind of thinking well, maybe ...
B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks
L: grilled chicken
D: rib-eye steak
S: light n fit Greek yogurt
Exercise: Walking Blossom around the subdivision
Have a great day everyone!
~ Karen
Good morning,
Im up early for church. Not sure what im going to do later today.
QOTD I have a problem with binge eating but its getting better. I try everyday to eat just what I plan.
B spinach, red pepper, ham and cheese omelet and string cheese
L tuna and cottage cheese
D boneless pork chop and zoodles
S Greek yogurt, turkey sausage snack sticks and cutie orange
Have a good day
Up early for church too. We have a spaghetti dinner fundraiser afterwards and I'm going early to help set up. Lily and I have our 3.2 miles in already and will walk more later. It may be in the woods because if we're not exhausted after the dinner cleanup we may go camping. QOTD My biggest struggle is sticking to my plan and not adding extra nibbles. Since I ditched the protein bars I've been doing much, much better there. Post op 4 years 8.25 months and weight at 117.2 today. Food for maintenance today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1 Italian sausage 1/2 c lettuce salad D 31/2 oz baked chicken 1/2 c green beans S P3 Pak. Have a great day everyone and make some smart and conscious choices that move you one step closer to your goals! I may not have Internet tomorrow so I'll see you when I see you!
Happy Sunday everybody.
My GI tract is still in a bit of disarray from what I think was a PowerBar protein shake. Since the surgery I've been ingesting a lot more artificial sweetener and a lot more dairy products neither of which I was on a friendly basis with pre-surgery. From now on I think I'm going to take a protein shake in small increments. See if that's any better. Tonight I may go to my fav Greek restaurant where the grilled fish is so good it kinda makes you think you're eating steak.
QOTD: Survey says....excercise number 1 answer for sure. I've been walking my butt off (5+ miles daily) but I need some interval training. I actually went out and bought some new running shoes last weekend and used them for actual running. I didn't run very far and I didn't run very fast but I ran. Soon I'll take my bike down from the wall and see how that works out. The final frontier is the gym and more specifically, weights. Not necessarily "pumping iron" but you'd be surprised what kind of workout you can get even just using a kettle bell.

Good morning!
The sun is finally trying to peak through the clouds and it would be to great see it after all the days of rain we've had. We're planning a little drive today to pick up some parts he needs and a few grocery items to get us through another week.
Recently I've been amazed at how fast my likes and dislikes seem to be changing. I realize it's normal and I'm just rolling with it but every couple weeks my go-to foods change and things I was reaching for I'm now turning my nose up at.
QOTD I realized yesterday that when I returned to work I stopped adding Mio to my water (for no real reason at all) and it has meant a decline in my water consumption. Plain water has become a bit of problem for me, which has been challenging and disappointing, but I've added a few bottles of Mio to my work bag so no excuses this week. I too have had some evenings where I'm trying to catch up and I feel like I'm drowning by bedtime.
On Thursday this week my cousin who lives in BC will be arriving in Ontario with her husband for the weekend to attend a wedding. I haven't seen them since the beginning of October when I was over a month pre op and over 100lbs heavier. She moved to BC almost 10 years ago now but we had grown up together and she hasn't seen me weigh anything close to what I weigh now since we were in high school. Her mom is excited for us to take pictures together because she says it will help her "wrap my head around how far you've come". :)
5+ months post op
B- coffee w/ 1/2 chocolate premier
L & D- meal prep day and I'm still in discussions with my stomach about what we'd like this week....
S- coffees w/ remaining premier
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

QOTD: Exercise for sure (unfortunately, my ankle injury has kept me away from my fave, Aqua Zumba, for weeks - and I re-injured my ankle again yesterday while walking! Getting SO tired of this!!). Also, night eating. The stuff I eat is fine in small quantities (like sugar free Ice Breakers), but half a box or even a whole box is not! I had about 150 calories' worth last night, and I was already at the top of my calorie range. I have to find something else to chew on. I was never a gum person because I feel like a cow chewing its cud, but I think I'm going to have to try it...
23 months out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt, flaxseed, raspberries
S: coffee with half & half (going to try to make it without a protein shake today)
L: meeting friends for brunch, so not sure - something safe
D: pork and veggie stir fry
Morning Menu Family... Another cold and rainy day here... I was hoping to get out and hit some golf balls today but I do not see that happening... What to do what to do? Yesterday was such a busy day I was going about my day and looked at the clock and realized it was 4:30! I was like holy crap where did the day go but it felt good to get things done.
QOTD: I would have to say exercise. I am exercising but certainly not like I want to or should be but then again working 10-12 hours a day does not help either. Until my project at work goes live in February of next year work is not going to get any better so I need to get better about making time for me.
Food for the day:
B: scrambled egg w/ salsa and cheese
L: taco meat, lettuce, tomato, cheese, & sour cream
D: grilling season YEAH!!!! My husband will be cooking some form of meat on the grill but who knows. I should mention that my husband does not allow me to touch the grill or the lawn mower... I know I know sexist but when it comes to his grill I might not turn it on right or clean the grate blah blah blah. When it comes to the lawn mower well 25 years ago I tried to be nice and mow the lawn and I did not mow it in the right pattern and I did not clean the mower properly when done so I have been forbidden from touching his precious lawn mower ever again. But then in his defense I should mention I do not allow him to do laundry because I do not like the way he folds things so I guess we all have our quirky dirks....
Have a great Sunday all.... Enjoy the week...
Morning pouch pals! Brr- it's a chilly morning here. Had to put on my fleece lined running clothes and wear gloves- but I got it done. Just finished breakfast and am about to dive into our budget. then some cleaning and to the market for a few things.
Qotd: hmmm, the hallmarks of post op life; no drinking/eating; waiting 30 minutes to drink, protein goals and exercise, I'm rocking. Carbs of course are still a demon. And sometimes I'm tempted not to track something in MFP; I always fess up because I often replicate a daily menu so I'd only be hurting myself by leaving stuff off. But that good/evil devil seems to live on my shoulders.
195 today, 2 years out, 5# WL goal
m1: 2 scrambled eggs,1/2c turkey sausage crumbles, sprinkle cheese, 1/4 Belgian waffle
m2: 1oz cheese/cashews, 1/2c sf pudding
m3: sautéed shrimp or chicken chunks
m4: ? Maybe ribs/burgers. Hubby is offering to grill- so who knows.

Good morning! It's raining here and won't clear up until later today, so no hike this morning. I'm looking forward to taking DS to lunch and to see Guardians of the Galaxy 2 today. It's a perfect day for it.
I know what you mean by food rut...I have to change what I make each week so I don't get bored. I like the no brainer stuff, so I try to always keep a good variety of cooked meats in the fridge and things to grab from the freezer.
QOTD - An area post op that I need to work on... Even though I work out most days, I would still say being more active in general, working out more consistently and pushing myself harder. I need to kick it up a notch or two effort wise as I think I am too comfortable. I end up cancelling at least 1 workout a week and the weekend planned hikes often seem to get the shaft due to time, other priorities or like today the weather. It's time to tweak the plan a bit.
5+ moth post op
b-coffee, coffee and more coffee + bacon
l-grilled chicken from red robin
d-pulled pork
v/l - on track
e-if you count mall walking
Have a great day all!!
