What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu, RNYers?
My whole bariatric journey started with my gallbladder. I had a few attacks last year and every ER doc was questioning my sanity in regards to why I still had it in my body. The pain when a stone blocks the bike duct is incredible and not even intravenous morphine stops it. I've read where women say that childbirth is less painful
I know gallbladder issues are very common in folks that lose a lot of weight. I feel sorta lucky that I had mine out prior to my RNY rather than after. The surgery itself is sorta lightweight compared to bariatric. What I didn't count on was that my whole GI tract came out happier and healthier. I thought the surgery was just about stopping attacks. But your body benefits from that improved flow of bile.
UGH When my galbladder went to crap, it was HORRIBLE! It was 8 weeks after my RNY and I couldn't keep any food down and I was just miserable! They took pity on me and only made me wait a wee****il my surgeon has an opening though to yank it! I hope you can get yours out quickly. The recovery for me was pretty fast, and its instant relief from the symptoms!
Oh my...that is no fun. I'm so sorry you are having gallbladder issues. I can say once mine came out I felt tons better. Hope you get to feeling 100% quickly. ~Elizabeth

So sorry you are going through 'gallbladder hell'! I did just after my son was born 15 years ago, and I swear to you, the pain was worse than labor, and I had just gone through labor, so I know!
You will feel SO MUCH BETTER once you can get it out. I just don't understand why they have to wait until AFTER your next attack! Crazy insurance crap, I know... ugh. Hopefully you can time it and just have a grand old 'last meal' that will trigger it when you're ready to have it out. Good news, is for a while afterwards, you shouldn't need much Miralax to get moving... I swear - at least prior to WLS - I really had to be careful, and getting stopped up was exactly the opposite of what I worried about until my liver figured out how to dispense the bile correctly.

Glad you have an answer at least. That means you can get back to coffee eventually! It's the little things... Hopefully it will go quickly!

I'm so sorry you are going through this! After being the caretaker for your Mom, what a time to have this happen (well, really there wouldn't be any hood time).
