What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
Before surgery I was taking 5 shots a day for diabetes and then before I left the hospital I was down to one shot a day. Within 2 weeks of surgery I was completely off of shots and taking no other diabetic meds. Since that time I have been dealing with RH. I get the hot flashes, dizzy and a severe headache. Not fun!

Yes, yes, yes!!!
I'm a confusing case, since I can dump with protein, but RH tends to require carbs in some form. For me, it doesn't have to be "bad" carbs, like rice, pasta, cookies. I can react to veggies (which I know Grim would argue are "bad") But yes to everything Grim said. We are very lucky to have such smart people on this thread!

Wicked awesome answer Grim, thanks for this!!!!
Stacy has some great suggestions and guidance for you!
I used to have RH symptoms years ago before I started my first dive into Low Carbing... it instantly stopped for me, and then started back up when I tanked on that diet...
I've had it happen twice now since surgery, and one time, I did eat too many carbs, but the second time I was eating clean. I really hope it doesn't start with me regularly. If so, I'll be out to meet Stacy's doc!
I know there are others on this board that have stories similar as well.
Be vigilant and keep good records so hopefully you can get it under control sooner than later!

I have RH... when I eat something "wrong" (fake sugar reacts the same for me as real sugar - I hate sweet! ) I think it's like - I eat too much? simple carb something and my body says there is something wrong here...this body needs insulin right now!! So then I get a huge influx of insulin but oops..now I have too much insulin and it rapidly attacks my poor little fake sugar/?real sugar? Too much carb mess? And then my blood sugar says ok I'm leaving now and I'm going to do it fast ( wiped out by the insulin?)... then I get shaky, a little panicky, sweating..i start stuttering - absolutely do not feel good and feel like I'm going to pass out (yuk!)...so I grab a couple of those diabetic sugar tabs and follow it with protein...wait a little and it passes... I have only done this maybe 5-6 times but it's scary.. so its real to me...not sure my pcp would agree. My blood sugar level is usually between 44_60 when this has happened...I now travel with sugar tabs and a meat stick...just in case.
Morning!
Napersize sounds like a workout I can get behind, lol. I did some yard work this morning that involved hauling a wagon load of heavy stuff uphill in my wagon several times, phew!
QOTD- last night my husband sat next to me eating pepperidge farm cookies while I had my cherry lime aid slushy, lol. He is a junk food junkie, and having his crappy food around is just going to be the way it is. Not only did he eat it next to me, he OFFERED TO SHARE! Get thee behind me Satan! I did not partake.
Food today, 8 months post op.
B- low carb protein chocolate waffles with greek vanilla yogurt and strawberries on top
L- eggroll in a bowl, which basically is crack slaw
S- "pizza" on low carb pita
