What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
on 5/2/17 2:51 am
Good morning! Thanks for all of the encouragement about the job. I got more details from HR yesterday and even though applying for the new position is going to be more of an ordeal than I hoped, at least I know what I have to do, now. Hoping they finish the job description today and I can take a peek!
I have to tell you guys that I have been eating like a champion! It's the fear of looking like a house in the France photos, and I am totally killing it. No snacking. No BLTs. All good choices. I'm also remembering to eat more slowly and mindfully. Rewarded with another pound loss--down 3 in 1.5 weeks.
BTW, has anyone heard of the new craze sweeping a gym near you? NAPERSIZE! Go to the gym and take a 45 nap. I am hoping to train for a marathon. Hahaha.
QOTD: What is the last food temptation that you were strong enough to turn down! For me it's the small bag of chips that came with my Lobster Roll this weekend. Ooh how I wanted those crunchy nuggets of fried salty potato goodness... But again, I want to look okay in Paris photos, more!

Good morning JB and everyone!
JB and Insert Fitness, I hope you both find resolutions for your positions at work! I started grooming 2 of my furbabies early yesterday and missed what was going on. My girls are all trimmed up and ready for summer, now for my boys today.
Congrats JB on sticking nag to lan and losing those extra pounds! You are an inspiration! I have let some carbs creep in the last couple days and the scale shows it at 145 this morning. I need to stay vigilant! Tomorrow is my 1 year surgiversary and have my one year appt. on Thursday. Where did the year go!
QOTD: Last thing was the buttered popcorn my DH offered me yesterday. It does annoy me a little bit that he would offer it to me knowing full well I should not eat it! We have lots of no-foods at my house, so it is a constant battle but since I dump so easily makes it a lot easier to avoid it. Since my DH has such a short "runway" himself due to losing so much of his intestines to Chron's and ulcerative colitis, he can eat anything and not gain weight. I still have 30 more lbs to lose to reach my goal and I will get there!
Menu:
Breakfast: egg, ham and cheese scramble
Lunch: Turkey and cheese rollups
Dinner: tbd but protein for sure.

Great job turning down the popcorn! Of course you will get to goal! You have done so well this first year and you have so much to be proud of :)
Popcorn is one "vice" I have. I have limited myself to one handful and only when we go out to a specific place that serves the BEST popcorn. I realize though it could be a seriously off the rails food because it doesn't fill me up at ALL.

You're right, but it seems counterintuitive. We can eat a huge pile of popcorn.
The nutritional stats on popcorn aren't bad, if air popped and plain. But if popped in oil, or smothered in a gallon of butter or topping, they can deliver a million calories.

Morning all
JB hopefully they are keeping you in mind as they write that job description. It happens sometimes :)
hmmm- I suppose this ties into the QOTD: I've been having an issue with nighttime snacking. Talked to therapist about it yesterday. We determined that I needed something else to divert my attention. Also been pairing my evening snack with some dense protein (meat) that helps the craving. I wanted to eat lots of m&m's yesterday but I didn't.
today is my weigh day. having some poop inducing laced coffee hopefully then will weight. Also I'm up early because DH got up to pee and apparently ALL the dogs decided they wanted to potty also. Then I was woken up and can't get back to sleep.
OH- BTW- the benetton dresses WERE still on the rack yesterday, for $1. Yes, i got them plus a few other items like a benetton suit (skirt/jacket), sisley dresses, etc. $10 for all of them, yep 11 pieces of clothes. It was the bomb.
Food for today: leftovers again:
gizzards, leftover bimibap, veggies. the lettuces are going crazy in the garden so DH will probably have something like that for dinner with meat and veg. I'm thinking ravioli for him with salad maybe...
Benetton is still around? I haven't heard that name in years. You're giving me flashbacks now.
