What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?

Hope this isn't TMI but since my mastectomy by hormones hate me. You may remember last week I had "cry day." Well this week is "cramps so bad I feel like I'm having contractions." Sigh. I go to the doctor next week and I'm going to talk to them about it. Each month gets worse. There HAS to be something they can do to help!

Eats for today:

  • Power Crunch Bar
  • Tilapia w/ Fire Roasted Tomatoes/Asparagus/onions + a bed of spinach (that's what I'm using to replace rice or a starch in this dish)
  • A cheese/pepperoni stick
  • Probably scrambled eggs w/ cheese or something equally easy because I fully intend to fire up the pain meds and go to bed EARLY tonight.

Get a bottle of natural progesterone cream and apply it every day. Doctors can't prescribe it because it is natural and drug companies can't patent it.

Google John R Lee, MD progesterone.

This can balance out your system and make you feel like a new woman.

Every day for 14 days in a second part of a cycle. Post menopause women can use a little every day, but normally menstruating woman probably should not do that for a whole month.

It has been years, but I used progesterone after my hysterectomy to control hot flashes. I would use it for three weeks, then take a week off.

Thanks for the reminder H.A.L.A

Hi everyone,

Quick post as I'm getting ready to go to a funeral. I'm still in a stall, hopefully that scale moves soon!

JB, I hope everything works out for you to get the director position.

You are doing awesome with your weight!

QOTD: Definitely Italian since I'm 100%. Other than some tomato sauce and the ricotta bake I haven't touched much of it since surgery.

B: 2eggs, turkey breakfast sausage, 1/2 slice of cheese.

The rest of the day is up in the air right now.

Ill read all the posts later on.

Enjoy your day everybody!

Funny living in NY, Italian is everywhere...along with everything else. Can't believe I don't miss pasta. I used to eat a slice of pizza at least once a week pre-surgery...and while I have had it a few times, no cravings for it.

So I tried making low carb meatballs without the Italian breadcrumbs, but they taste more like meatloaf...good but not what I was going for. Bought some meat today, and second round will be meat sauce on top of zoodles.... guess I am in the mood for Italian...

While I don't miss pasta anymore either I do still crave pizza. NY and CT have the best pizza in the country!

I had one bite of pizza on my birthday and although it was good, it tasted nothing like it used to before surgery(thank God! LOL!). I don't even think of eating it until I get I smell it but then I remember what the one bite tasted like and it's easy to walk away from it.

The same thing happened to me with the meatballs. I tried making with beef then again with turkey and both times it tasted like meatloaf even after putting a little sauce on it.

Welcome to Monday folks! JB, best of luck in the job changing department. You are going to find your path and it will be epic.

My surgery went well. I have been laying around doing a lot of nothing since I got home Wednesday. I re-watched the last three Harry Potter movies, The Matrix, and the first four Star Wars movies. Literally didn't leave the bedroom but a handful of times and only ventured as far as the kitchen. So obviously...today I came back to work... feeling like that was poor judgement and wishing I was home in bed but...here I am so here I will stay and muddle through.

Menu: B: Greek yogurt with granola; L: Meaty ricotta bake; D: Enchilada Chicken Soup in the Instant Pot; S: Small apple; ES: No sugar added vanilla ice cream

Accountability: Just working on recovering more than anything right now. Smoke free. There was lots of pain medication and boredom to inspire evening snacking during my weekend recovering. That combined with the IV fluids, constipation, and the bed rest I was up to 129 this morning. Overall I think that is ok but I need to get back on track. Will have to watch things closely this week and not let this turn in to a major slide.

So glad the surgery went well and you are feeling better...now go home!

Don't worry even a little about the weight going up. Between all those factors plus not really moving or burning calories for a few days, it seems pretty inevitable! But I am sure they will melt right off once you are back to a normal routine :)
