Hello Everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was fun but very busy! And Saturday I got to have an OH meet up with Cheapskate visiting Boston (who is probably before most of your times) and had great time getting to know her. She is 2 years post op and seriously looks amazing! It was great to meet her in person :) Her hubby has the pics on his phone, so I will share them when she send them to me!

So, I got some upsetting news on Thursday when I learned that our new CEO is shaking everything up and eliminating a whole bunch of jobs in our office, including mine. My entire department is getting reshuffled. They are encouraging me to apply for a director level position that is being newly created, but I am still nervous. This morning I am going to meet with our HR department and find out a little more about what the next steps are. My awake-self is totally logical and fine about everything, but I've have had a super hard time sleeping, so I guess it is needling my subconscious. I don't like starting Monday so overtired.

But on the plus side, less than two weeks until Paris! I am so excited and will need this vacation more than ever. I am doing pretty well sticking to my goal of losing 5lbs before I leave. I am down 2 already, even with the inability to exercise because of the achilles. I am really going to buckle down for the rest of the week and see if I can get back down to 115 before I leave.

QOTD: What is your favorite ethnic food category? I am partial to Mexican, and I also love Afghan and Lebanese dishes.

JB, it sounds like you could have a great opportunity at work coming up. I wonder why so many places are reorganizing now though...

Great job on your weight loss. Every time I read about your trip it reminds me that I need to plan a trip to Paris with DH soon before he can't do it.

QOTD: In the past I would have said Italian because I used to love pasta. It has been so long since I've had pasta itself that I had to pause and think about it. But because I love the sauce with meats and over zoodles I guess that would still be my favorite. I do like Mexican as an option though.

B: eggbeaters and cottage cheese, english muffins and PB (I get to have the last 2 because I'm under my goal range of 115-117 this morning)

L: tuna salad, pickles, and cottage cheese

D: IP chicken with peppers over riced cauliflower

S: protein bar

I have not had more than 5 bites of pasta in over 7 years since being banded then revised! Considering that was at the very core of my diet, it's pretty remarkable. I do miss Mac & Cheese but that's about it... the rest is no longer even a temptation :)

Good morning menu crew. JB I'm so sorry about your work stress. I'm sure it will work out for you. Good luck with everything! Your Paris trip will be here before you know it.

Ive had a lot of work stress and it doesn't seem to be letting up. I did apply on Friday for a similar job in a different department so we will see how that goes. I hope something happens soon because I can't take much more.

I have a heavy heart this morning - my very close friend's daughter- who is also a close friend to my daughter - has been hospitalized for panic and anxiety. They are about 3.5 hours north of us so I can't just go see them unfortunately but I'm so worried about her.

QOTD- my favourite hands down is Indian and then Thai- but I haven't had Thai since surgery. I know there are lots of low carb Thai recipes but I haven't checked them out yet.

We were visiting Charles's cousin yesterday and ended up leaving too late so this morning was a very quick exit. I have a protein shake for breakfast and a Dannon L&F yogurt and that's about it. I will check out what the cafeteria has on the lunch menu and salad bar but at least even without that I have half my protein. And it will probably be some type of chicken for dinner.

Have a great day everyone.

that happened to my DH last summer - I can relate! That's tough. Sorry to hear it's happening to your friend's daughter.

I love Indian and Thai, too. I make Thai food every once in awhile - if you skip the rice, it's not too hard to make it bariatric-friendly.
