When food does not agree with you, what do you do?
That court case reminds me of a warning I read on the last iron I bought. Something about removing clothes prior to ironing.
I remember thinking at the time that someone, somewhere ironed their shirt or pants while wearing them, got burned and sued!
Some of the foods that worked for me was pureed turkey and chicken with broth, strained soup, yogurt, cottage cheese, pureed banana, pureed butternut squash, ricotta, apple sauce, jello, pudding. Even though there wasn't really anything to chew, I still did. I was able to eat a little cheese as long as I let it get soft in my mouth before swallowing. I made sure to space my spoon full of foods out. At this point I was still using protein shakes intermittently to get enough daily protein.
Eggs did not really agree with me yet.
If a food wasn't going down right or I swallowed it too quick I did get chest pains like you. I had acid reflux before and after surgery so I had too keep taking Nexium. I know that people with RNY don't tend to have acid reflux so I don't know this might be a possibility for you. As others have already suggested maybe you will need to go back to liquids for an extra week.
It certainly wouldn't hurt to run it by your doctor just to play it safe cause you just never know.
I wish you the best of luck! I hope it gets resolved quickly for you!

I Would not have eaten any of those things on puree.
If you got the 'foamies' it means food was stuck and was not soft enough.
Eggs, especially scrambled can be very hard to digest. My doc suggested starting with poached or soft boiled.
I Would go back a stage for a day or two to give things time to settle down.

Not sure which hospital you went through, but I will be going through TWH in Toronto and their manual says that the only type of egg you can eat on Pureed stage is soft-poached, no other types. That may be your problem with eggs.
For your fruit puree, was it either cooked or canned fruit? Those are also the only ones recommended.
Your mashed potatoes may have needed more liquid.
Hopefully you feel relief soon. I hate the feeling sick.

As soon as I went off liquids, I vomited or felt like vomiting after every single meal. It would take me an hour to eat 1/8 of a cup of yogurt. It was months before I could tolerate eggs. Papaya Enzymes turned my life around. I would chew a few after a high protein meal and not get sick at all. Sometimes I would chew a few before a meal I knew might give me problems. To this day, 6 years later, I have a bottle in my car, purse and dining room table. AND, you can buy them at any department store or pharmacy. I actually buy mine on amazon.
Hang in there, it will get better soon
I had this a lot in my early days. In fact, for months there were precisely 7 foods that didn't make me hurl.
That sucks.
So yes, I'd say it's pretty normal to have food intolerances, but you should stay in close communication with your dietician or surgeon about it just to make sure you know how to get what you need.
I'm sorry you're going through this and I hope it passes soon!
