If you can fly to Paris without using the rest room... you have a bladder of steel... keep us updated

QOTD: Flying don't like it or dislike it...guess I tolerate it. Easier of course now... not so much worry about the whole seat thing.

So JB- Interesting Breakfast Fit Frappe and Boost? Never tried Boost, and reason for the double whammy?

Today I had to be to an early meeting and have been trying to eat on a more regular schedule so ate egg muffins before 8am.... I have now had breakfast, snack and lunch and am still hungry...ack! That is always my fear, if I start real food too early I will just be hungry all day...

B: 2 egg muffins
Coffee Latte/fairlife/miralax/SF Syrup

S: Premier protein with coffee (I know a lot of people do this- but I wasn't a fan...)

L: Turkey Chili w/lite shred cheddar

S1: wasa w/mayo/sliced hb egg/TJ's everything bagel seasoning

S2: adding this now...just because it is a hungry day and will drink this after my run- can't fight the hungry-
Whey Protein drink- Orange Julius

D: Steak w/ veggies

S: 1/2c yogurt w/1/2c blueberries
chai latte

Ex: Long run Day (for me anyway)- 2.5 miles plus warm up and cool down...so about 3 miles. Always intimidated by long run days!

Ok I had a huge revelation (which will eventually answer why I had a weird breakfast--stay with me...!). The Carafate and PPI are finally working, and without acid, I don't have hunger! I guess the acid was really doing that "hunger mimic" thing and I wasn't even aware.

So anyway, I couldn't be less interested in food right now, so my protein levels are tanking because I'm not eating what's on the menu. I was not at all hungry for breakfast but I thought I'd try adding 2 liquid protein sources. Nope. I only had 1/4 of each.

Usually by noon I have eaten a ton but today it's 2pm and all I've had are those few sips of protein drinks and a Greek yogurt. Weird right!?!?

I really should get the acid checked out...but I know my Bariatric office, they will want to go straight to the endoscopy which costs me a pretty penny out of pocket...

I try to only take the PPI when it is really bothering me... if it isn't too bad I don't.... maybe it would have helped today with my 'hungry day'...

I really didn't want to be on the PPI long term because of the kidney stuff, but I don't think I will ever be off of it, for real. The band really messed up any shot of that, I think. That band is just the gift that keeps on giving...

I love to fly. I fall asleep during take off a lot of times. I hate going through security. That is the worst part.

Hello everyone,

Crazy day at work today!

QOTD: I have not flown in over 25 years. It was embarrassing because of my size. I almost needed to but 2 seats. Luckily it was only a 3 hour flight so I was able to hold it without needing to use the bathroom. I'm sure at this point in my weight loss it would still be very difficult and I will avoid at all costs. Maybe in the future...who knows?

Same menu as yesterday:

B:2 eggs, turkey breakfast sausage, 1/2 slice cheese

L: 3oz turkey breast

S: 2oz turkey breast, 1/2 ostrim meat stick

D: 2oz chicken thigh, 2oz grilled tofu

S: 3/4 plain greek yogurt, 1/2 tbs sf apricot preserve

Cals:658, Carbs:13, Protein:88

Enjoy the rest of your evening everybody!

How's the gout? Your menu looks great--you are really keeping up the high protein while cutting out the gout triggers. I am impressed!

Hi JB,

Gout is soooo much better! Thank you for asking. I'm doing my best to keep out those trigger foods but I'm missing me some BEEF!!!!! LOL! I'm getting used to the tofu. The secret was to press all of the water out of it by wrapping it in paper towel and putting weights on it for 30 mins before marinating it. I have noticed that as the week goes on it has lost some of it's flavor but I had reserved some of marinade. Before reheating it I pour a little bit on and it helps a lot.

Take care,

Chris
