What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?

Good morning JB and everyone!
I had a good weekend and it is finally starting to warm up a bit. Decaf is the worst...so sorry about the ulcer.
QOTD: I had been considering it for several years but was unable to have my insurance cover it until last year because my BMI was not high enough until I gained more weight during my husband's illness and quitting smoking at the same time. With both those events my weight climbed which was distressing but at least I became eligible for WLS. My primary physician's nurse had actually had WLS 3 years ago, so when I mentioned it on a regular appt. I had a lot of support. It has been the best decision of my life!
Menu:
Breakfast: either yogurt or my egg, ham and cheese scramble.
Lunch: Beef fajita meat and a green salad
Dinner: not sure yet.

Nothing Tastes as Good as Healthy Feels!
Good Monday morning menu folks! This was a good weekend for me. I made it to Onederland and I got back to the pool twice! Today and tomorrow are supposed to be rain all day so no outside walk for me. I am glad that I have the treadmill, but I don't enjoy using it as much as I enjoy getting outside for a walk.
QOTD: As far as WLS, I've had doctors mention it several times over the last 5+ years and once the thought of getting cut on motivated me to lose 80 pounds. I just couldn't keep it off. This past August a friend had surgery and it gave me someone to see what it was really like in a practical way. When my pulmonologist mentioned surgery in January, I was finally ready to do it and made the decision within days of his suggestion. I am glad that I waited until I was really committed and ready before deciding to do it even though my health became worse in that time. I had thought of it as punishment and a failure. Now I see it as my acceptance that I need to be committed to my health.
Breakfast: egg white, Applegate turkey bacon
Snack: Apple Ecstasy protein shake
Lunch: 2 Trader Joe's sundried tomato chicken sausages
Snack: cottage cheese with applesauce
Dinner: Mahi Mahi burger with Puttanesca sauce

Good morning everyone!
I did the switch to decaf pre op and I like it but I know it sucks when the change isn't your choice. Hope you're not without caffeine for too long.
We had a good weekend, enjoyed some down time but there were moments of productivity too. Got all my lunches prepped for the week and I gotta say how nice and simple that is now. I was thinking last night how different a week's worth of lunches would have looked in the fridge at this time last year.
QOTD No one ever suggested surgery to me, which I'm thankful for because ugh that would be tough. I looked into on my own over 10 years ago but not enough to know I wouldn't have to self pay so once I saw the price tag the idea got squashed. Then I looked into it again about 6 years when we were pursuing fertility treatments but decided against it because of the wait time required after surgery. Finally a little over a year ago I asked my Dr for another referral and my decision was made.
5 months post op
B- coffee w/ 1/2 premier chocolate
L- chicken breast
D- we'll see what the grill master pulls from the freezer
S- coffee w/ remaining premier, turkey bite
Hope everyone has a good start to the week!

Happy Monday. I'm only 5 weeks out so the menu is certainly nothing to write home about. I've tried some solid food but it hasn't worked out so well.
My bariatric journey began with a gallbladder that betrayed me and a meeting with a surgeon. He asked me rather matter-of-factory if I'd consider a weight loss procedure with the idea being they could do it when they removed the gallbladder. Well it didn't work out that way (that gallbladder really had to go!) but here I am 5 months later devising schemes to ingest protein.
