Hey Christine, what is the name of the BBQ place you went to last night? Hubby and I are always looking for good "meat" joints to check out and your place sounds interesting!

And can I get your recipe for how you do your ribs in the crock pot and then bbq. Like you I am rib obsessed.

I had ribs on Friday night for dinner, hubby burned them a bit and I was not impressed so I asked him to take me to Montana's for dinner last night, I got their "large" order of ribs and pretty much brought it all home. So I am eating ribs dinner Friday, dinner Saturday and breakfast Sunday LOL, yup I am obsessed ha ha ha

Love your scale picture story, such a guy thing right LOL LOL LOL

Q BBQ Public House in Cambridge, it was on You Gotta Eat Here a few years ago apparently.

www.qbbq.ca

I wasn't feeling like eating much last night so I only had a few bites but everyone else seemed to enjoy everything. Except for my BIL, he had coleslaw and it had pineapple in it which he found odd and "yuck" but otherwise everyone said they would go again.

For the ribs I get the rib rub from the spices section at the Bulk Barn, and that is exactly what they call it 'rib rub'. It's a nice dry rub and we like the flavour so much we use it on other meats as well. I don't do anything special with them just rub in the seasonings and I put them bone side down with just a touch of water in the crock pot and leave them to cook for a few hours. He will add sauce to his when he grills but the rub alone is plenty of flavour for me and the meat is really tender coming out of the crock pot.

And 3 days of ribs in a row sounds like a really good weekend!!

Good Morning everyone! I hope you all are having a great weekend!

QOTD: I've been enjoying prosciutto wrapped mozzarella sticks lately. I have a George Foreman grill and that's what I use to grill rib-eye steaks (which are kind of expensive so I don't buy them too often), hamburgers & chicken breasts.

B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks

L: taco meat, cheese, sour cream, 1/2 flour tortilla

D: taco meat, cheese, sour cream, 1/2 flour tortilla

S: light n fit Greek yogurt

Exercise: Walking Blossom around the subdivision

Have a WONDERFUL day everyone!

Good morning!!! Finally a day off!!! I worked OT yesterday and between unpacking, catching up at work, and my slightly longer commute, things have been extra crazy. This morning I'm going to finish unpacking my kitchen, go donate a bunch of kitchen stuff that I don't need, and pick up some more spices, kitchen essentials, and groceries.

Liz, omg, those recipes look amazing! I'm going to try to make a veggie version of the Italian chicken (with my flu chicken) and see if I can make my rice cooker work as a crock pot. I know it's small, but based on the internet, I think it may work. Plus I'm just cooking for me.

I feel like a baby with the protein. Most of my best ideas have come from this forum. Last weekend I made eggface's zucchini egg bites, but I added a cup of chopped fake chicken (came out much better than when I tried adding whey protein!) and I cooked for 30 min at 300 instead of 350, with a pan of water in the oven. They come out much moister that way. I picked that up from a mock sousvide recipe... also posted here! http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2008/03/anoth er-bite.html

plan for today... not finalized. I'm gonna make a new recipe and plan around that. Unless it takes too long... in which case I'll just use one of the many many things I have frozen. So far I'm still working on my coffee with premier protein.

my father appears to be dying, although we know this process can take a few days or even up to a couple of weeks. My brother is there with him at the nursing home and will be there until the very end. He's only left his side briefly a couple of times (e.g, to shower), and when he has, he's made sure a friend was there to watch over Dad. I haven't really been sure what to do with myself the last three or four days. I guess all there is to do is wait - and be by my phone so I get all the texts and calls. I just now thought of driving down there, but he could die while I'm on my trip down (it takes two days to get down there) - plus it might take me a day or two to make all the arrangements on this end. DH is leaving at the end of the week to visit his mother on the east coast - so I'd have to figure out what to do with all the cats, etc. Maybe it's better if I just stay put. I don't know what I'd do down there, either, but wait. It could be a couple of weeks - no one really knows.

my weight has been dropping lately even though my calorie level is the same. I was starting to freak out (a little), but I just looked at my macros over time, and the last month or so I've gone up a bit on protein (trying to keep a lid on my hunger), so the carb level has naturally dropped down a little (I still get a lot, though - usually 100-125 grams). So maybe that's it.

QOTD: There are days when I'd be happy as a clam just eating Greek yogurt and drinking protein shakes (I try to get creative with them to keep them interesting). But I also eat a lot of chicken salad made with plain Greek yogurt (or have eaten a lot of it *lately*, anyway....) and stirfried dishes. I also like making things in my Instant Pot that we can just nuke and eat all week, like chili or this past week, carnitas.

22 months out (maintenance)

B: homemade Greek yogurt with flaxseed

S: coffee with half & half, SF protein/fiber mocha latte

L: 1/2 chicken salad wrap, orange or apple

D: shakshura

probably a L&F yogurt later - or a protein pop

exercise: yoga
