Good Morning Insert Fitness and Menu Family!
QOTD: I'm proud that my daughter and I have rescued many animals over the years including two pigeons that had been hit by cars, (one which has become our beloved pet) and even a baby opossum that fell into Saralisa's wading pool and nearly drowned. We nursed him back to health, fed him until he was older and set him free. Both of our dogs are rescues as well.

Hmmm. Proud. I guess right now I'm most proud of my oldest. She is finishing her sophomore year of college. She says she doesn't even know if she is going back in the fall (I think she will. She's burned out right now). She is the reason we started homeschooling. Back when she was in first grade she was failing school. Very long story short, we gave homeschooling a try. She was eventually diagnosed with dyslexia. We both worked really, really hard to get her where she is today. Now she is five hours away and writing papers I don't even understand the titles of and I'm just very proud of her, whatever she decides about next year, it was worth all those late nights around the dining room table.
We have had so much rain! The kids games have been cancelled and I happily have a quiet day at home to catch up on All The Things.
Meals today, 7 months post op-
B- Apple cinnamon protein oatmeal
L- Bacon avocado chicken on salad fixings
S- chocolate Greek yogurt and strawberries
D- the last of those darned stuffed peppers.
S- apple slices with peanut butter/Greek yogurt dip

I'm proud that all my children are doing fairly well in their careers. Someone told me yesterday that I should be proud of the support I am giving/plan on for DH (Alzheimer's). I'm having a hard time with that right now as I know I am often impatient or irritated. NEED TO DEVELOP PATIENCE!!!
B: eggbeaters and cottage cheese
L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese
D: pulled pork and asparagus
S: cheese stick, protein bar
Need to keep calories low as I am up 2 pounds!

My mom has a hard time not getting frustrated and irritated with my dad sometimes and she feels so bad. What I see is so much love from her towards my dad. I am proud of how she takes care of him. You should be too! It's not easy.

sorry for chiming in so late, but I'm speaking from experience. My father was diagnosed with frontal lobe dementia. Caregiving for someone with alzheimers or dementia takes superhuman patience and strength. Be kind to yourself. If you lose patience, walk away for a moment and compose. When I was caring for my father, I'd lose my patience with him and then feel terribly guilty. I had to learn to cut myself some slack. You will NEVER be able to develop the amount of patience you need to not lose it every once in a while. And sadly (or on the bright side? 7 years after my father passed, I'm still not sure) your DH won't remember the moments you lose patience or are "short" with him. What he will be left with is the feeling he was well taken care of and loved. Stay strong and if you need to vent, please reach out . . . I believe that like WLS, on those who have gone through it can truly understand.
