gurgly and burps
hi. am almost 10 weeks post gastric bypass. until a couple of weeks ago I was doing ok. now I am always nauseated and my stomach gurgles so much and I burp a lot. am also frequently constipated and use Miralax. I get my 60 oz plus of water but the doctor says I am possibly still dehydrated and to drink more. to do this I take zofran to reduce the nausea. am due for lab work in 2 weeks but am concerned i have either a stricture or ulcer. no pain and am unable to vomit...
Was your ulcer in your pouch or in the old stomach?

The gurgling is completely normal. I am almost 2 years post op and my tummy was SO loud this morning after a few sips of coffee, that my boyfriend commented about it from across the room... Constipation is totally normal, too. You will probably struggle with it forever but Miralax works for most of us.
Keep drinking and taking that Zofran if you need it. I dealt with on-and-off nausea for a few months. Your body is going through a lot, give it time to heal and don't panic. No pain and vomiting is a good thing :)
My pouch was very noisy at first too, and I had tons of people tell me that burping isn't normal. I was convinced I had an ulcer. NOPE! Surgeon told me everyone heals differently and that it would calm down over time. Now I'm about 5 months out and barely a rumble.

MsKitty...
My new tummy gurgles and makes noise in the morning and when I eat solid protein....and of course I burp and am uncomfortable if I eat too fast or too much (I'm a bit over 2 months out and still learning). Call your team if you are concerned, it never hurts to check stuff out.
Good Luck!
