Feeling slightly defeated...

but i I know this is just the beginning! Since my liquid diet I've lost almost 60 pounds (literally like a pound or so away...) 41 pounds since surgery.

But today, I weighed (only weigh once a week) and I'm up 4 pounds. I don't get it.

I stalled at 3 weeks (super common I know). It was disappointing but understandable. But to step on the scale and see it go UP 4 pounds my heart about stopped.

So yes, I got super down. Now I'm going to get up and pack up my fat winter clothing. I refuse to be where I am now this coming winter.

Man this journey has me an emotional mess AND ITS JUST THE BEGINNING!!!

Venting now complete.

Your weight will fluctuate. You may be retaining water, constipated, etc. If the scale stresses you out stay off of it. Take your measurements to keep track of your progress for awhile. You may lose inches that the scale will not show. If you are sticking to your plan, you will lose weight. Don't get down by a number on the scale. It will go up and down. Keep track of trends and you will see that you gain at certain times of the month or when you start a new exercise program.

Once you are in maintenance it will be important to keep track of your weight so you can tweek your diet to stay at the same weight.

If you stick to your food plan you will lose the weight. You will get to goal and realize that it does not matter what you weighed on any particular day during the journey.

The journey is a marathon not a sprint. Pack up your fat clothes and get rid of them. As long as you follow instructions you won't need them.

It is good to vent. Just don't panic. I know I did at times. I didn't think the scale would ever move.

Write down NSVs they help when the scale doesn't move. A lot of times I make a list of things I can do now and I couldn't do before.

You will get there.

This happened to me. I lost 30 pounds in the first 6 weeks and then one day the scale reflected a 4 pound gain. No one said anything about gaining weight! I flipped out LOL It did come off over the next 2 weeks and now I am back to (really) losing again.

I don't really know what to expect from this new body, but before WLS I would lose 4 pounds and then regain 3 for an overall loss of around 1 lb a week. You'd think I would retain some lessons about not freaking out but since the WLS I just have this fear of it not working. (I am not a scale hopper; I only weigh once a week at the same time each week.)

Anywho the point is I feel ya girl ;)
