Today's the Day....
...I start my liquid diet. Ensure & 3/4 cup 0% plain Greek yogurt/day. Surgery is only 2 weeks away! So excited.

Day 3 of pre-op diet for me. So far so good. My diet is only liquids (except sf jello). Surgery 05/02. I can do this!!!
Good morning! It is going well. Better than expected. I still get hungry but I have found that keeping something in my stomach gets me by. I keep a bottle of Powerade Zero with me and a couple sips of that helps a lot. The worst part was grocery shopping this weekend. I would walk by something that I normally get and my mind would tell me instinctively to pick up some of whatever it was but I didn't give in. My car also wants to stop at my go to fast food places but I won't allow it to do so! The girls in the office are younger than me and eat junk constantly. This was tough at first, I used to eat what they eat (part of my problem for sure!) but I have gotten over it. My only variances from the pre-op diet is one cup extra of chicken broth (winner, winner chicken dinner!****asionaly, but that's it. Tomorrow it will be a week. How are you doing?
I'm OK; I actually don't mind the Ensure & I'm so thankful that I can have plain Greek yogurt - makes me think I'm "eating" something. The smell of food cooking hasn't made me want to eat, however tonight someone in the house was eating chips & dip & I started to crave them. Darn chips - but all is good. I take it one day at a time & try not to think that i have another week to do this. Thursday is actually one week for me. Drinking fluids definitely helps.

The girls in the office had a pizza yesterday and I didn't even want any! One week for me today! I can walk by chips and sweets but not sure about popcorn - love the stuff especially at the movies with extra butter! It is going tough to resist it but I have a feeling my new pouch will probably let me know if I eat any (and not in a good way). I totally agree with drinking the fluids. I find tha****er does not help that much but Powerade Zero seems to fool my body into thinking it is getting something more than just liquid - at least for a few minutes. Roxanne
