What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?t
Hubby and I rarely watch live TV anymore and fast forward thru commercialsome so I've got nothing on the QOTD. Lily and I got our 3.2 miles in this morning and will do another after supper if there is no rain. No extra bites yesterday so good there. I felt snacks at bedtime but had decaf coffee instead. Post op 4 years 7.75 months and weight at 117.4 today. Here's the food for maintenance today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz lean pork chops 1/2 c Tuscan veggie blend D 31/2 oz baked chicken thigh 2 small sausage stuffed mushrooms S mission one chocolate chip cookie protein bar. Have a great day everyone and make some smart and conscious choices that move you one step closer to your goals! You've got this.
I'm gonna issue the following caveats if I am to share my daily menu as it's been a while since I frequented here and am not totally sure how this thread works here nowadays:
- I've don't do the "I can'ts"
- I eat intuitively. That means some days I'm really hungry and eat a lot. Some days I'm really NOT hungry and don't eat much at all.
- I'm posting for the purposes of holding myself accountable and am not looking for feedback on my meal plan, although I am perfectly open to questions about it.
Sound fair? Cool!
That said, today is fairly unscripted day. I belong to a lunch club at work (Lunch Bunch) that meets on Wednesdays so I'm never sure what they will serve. To the extent possible, I eat the protein/produce and a little bit of the starch if it's a good one (quinoa, etc.) but I definitely have a simple starch budget in my day, so I usually leave that if it's served.
That said, this morning I was craving a Sausage Egg McMuffin. I can't explain why, but I went with it. I got it with egg whites and white cheddar cheese. It was yummy. For lunch will be whatever Lunch Bunch serves. For dinner I have some pork chops that I made that have been calling my name but because I have been very un-hungry for about the past four days, I haven't touched them. Will tonight be the night? Not sure.
My dietician has instructed me to eat between about 1500 calories a day. Even on Egg McMuffin days I typically fall short of that. I log my food at the end of the day so I won't know til then where I netted out but I'm gonna try to come back and report! :)
Have a good and productive day, everyone!

Welcome!
For me posting a menu is accountability like you said, and having a plan. Does it happen 100% as written? Usually not exactly but it also makes me think about my day and not get caught off guard.
So hope you enjoy being here and stick around

Thanks! I used to frequent these boards years ago and this post was a good place to report back. But I find in life if you don't ask for what you need/expect, you don't get it! So just putting my personal boundaries out there.
Thanks for the warm welcome. I really appreciate it. :)

So as usual dense protein for the win... finally had some decent movement of the scale overnight. Whew!
GERD is not my friend lately either. :(
I am pretty out of touch with commercials too... I record and fast forward through them.
This morning I am thankful for this gym and trainer that got put in my life... that I so didn't see coming. I am a firm believer are in sometimes things work out the way they're supposed to, even when we don't expect it. This kid is a smart kid, and it is good to have another voice of reason in your life, who isn't afraid to look you in the eye and say No don't do this- do that.

Back to work post-move today! Half my stuff at home is still in boxes and now I'm playing catchup at work. Busy busy busy.
QOTD: I can't think of any commercials that I've seen lately. I don't have a tv at the moment. If I watch things it's streaming.
Food has been fine during the move. I would forget to eat, though... my calories were even lower than usual and I had trouble making my protein goals.
Plan
Breakfast 1: coffee with premier protein
Breakfast 2: cottage cheese
Lunch: 2 zucchini egg bites, one babybel
Dinner: fake crack chicken
Snack: Greek yogurt with protein powder, sugar free pudding mix (cheesecake) and PB2
Exercise: this morning I explored my new neighborhood by taking a 2.9 mile 2-mile-run along the Merrimack river at sunrise. See... sometimes when you plan your run on google maps it looks like two roads are connected... but then you get there and there's a big fence and you have to run back the way you came.
