Good Morning JB and Menu Family,

I sure hope you feel better today, Julia and that it isn't anything serious.

QOTD: We usually fast forward through most commercials, but my daughter and I cracked up at a Clearasil commercial the other day. It showed a cartoon figure of a skateboarding girl with a broken leg bent backwards with the bone sticking out and she's just sitting there blinking, non-chalantly calm. It says something to the effect, "Let's be clear, Clearasil works fast on teen acne ... not so much on other teen problems. I guess you have to see it to laugh, but it was really funny!

B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks

L: lettuce, chicken, cheese, low cal dressing

D: hamburger patty with cheese

S: light n fit Greek yogurt

Exercise: Walking the dogs around the subdivision

Have a great day everyone!

~ Karen

I haven't noticed the Clearasil commercial. Chances are they are not advertising acne cream on the shows I am watching...#Ifeelold

hey yall Full confession, I was a carb mess last night it involved a russell stovers marshmallow, 2 chips ahoy thin cookies, a protein cake and a carbmaster yogurt. yes this was about 300! welp calories. yes, that got me to over 1000 for the day absolutely too much. not sure what it is at night but I read it was a scientific condition to eat poorly at night and crave sweets. I think to some degree it is a need to mind/body numb before sleeping.

Anywho, onward and upward. scale somehow rewarded me this morning with a 2 pound loss. NOT making that a regular occurrence though. Trying to slowly ease back into yoga and will be going back to free on youtube for a bit and see how that works. going to try for 15 -20 min in the morning to warm up body and maybe meditate a bit before work, then at night when my mind wants to eat I can do another session.

16 months post op / 122 lbs today / maintenance diet

QOTD: i haven't been watching a ton of TV lately. I did star****ching preacher on HULU and I do like it. Also started harlots but not sure I will stick with it. Our HBO/Showtime etc is cutting off today so the movie channels will be lost. Seems we don'****ch a lot of live tv anymore. DH likes to watch the walking dead but we can't get it on demand so that is a bummer and everyone else wants you to pay money for it.

Food for today: rest of the gizzards, mushrooms, brussels sprouts, spinach, dinner I may be trying out the nuwave oven I got at a thrift store then the motor was dead so ordered a motor on ebay. apparently it air fries foods so was thinking about chicken wings in it for a test? I hate yet another appliance that is bulky but oh well.

So sorry that you are struggling lately Maintenance sucks, doesn't it? Interesting about the night eating. I've never really had that issue (even when I was MO), but I think it is a big factor for a lot of people.

Personally, I would eat all of my calories between 5am and noon! After that I can usually coast for the rest of the day, but I eat like a linebacker in the morning!

My surgeon's goal for me was 123 and my personal goal was 114. Once I got to 123, my surgeon told me it would probe take a year to get those last 10 pounds off. I was able to do it more quickly, but still... those last pounds are killers. Calorie restriction has to be even lower because weights are already low to start, and now there is no malabsorption, and hunger is back. It's like everything is lined up against us. But I know you can do it! You have been better than any of us about following the rules :)

Another run to the city today with plans to purchase yogurt and veggie tots but here's why NO MEAT...a local, retired teacher and his wife are spending their golden years being commercial meat-processors. Last week, we hired them to butcher our biggest steer; I hid in the house while my husband and the couple took care of business. After they left, my husband came inside and remarked, "that's some kind of woman; she works like a man with makeup on." QOTD: I watched but still don't get the message from the Pepsi commercial. I did see a tshirt advertised on JCP.com that read, "I want abs but I want bacon more."
