At 6 weeks out my calories were 400-500, protein above 80g and carbs between 20-40. I have never worried about fat!

I was about the same at as JB at 6 weeks out calorie wise but was only getting about 60-65g protein. Carbs were as low as possible but not higher than 40 and I didn't and still don't worry about fat.

No more than 40 carbs. I don't do net carbs just carbs. If that what you mean.

I usually aim for 40/35/25 protein/carbs/fat.

But what does your dietician say? Are you not getting a straight answer from them?

It's very grey from the dietician. She's says just focus on protein and fluids but I'd like to get an idea of the balance I should be shooting for each day.

Honestly, it's such a moving target I'm not surprised you weren't given an exact target. It changes - not only based on what you do, but also as you get further out.

I think a good approach is shooting for a certain ratio and observing how that works and adjust as needed based on results. After all, that's all doctors/dieticians really do. They give you a starting point, see what happens, and adjusts based on what happens.

Hey, fellow RNY Meredith! Not a lot of us out here! I set MFP for 55/30/15 (protein/fat/carbs) to help me keep my carbs low and my protein high at this super low calorie phase of my diet. It helps me plan my days.
