What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?

I forgot to answer the QOTD... so I'll do it here...

I rarely have issues falling asleep either... but we put the TV on with the sleep button every night... and most every night it's on Forensic files... yes, I fall asleep listening to ways people kill other people...

What can I say? The man's voice is soothing...

So many people sleep with the TV on. I learned to never turn off a patient's TV. Forensics Files was a fave over night but the all time winner is Law and Order.

My go-to for sleep is children's chewable Benadryl-leave it in the nightstand...you have to buy generic though... Benadryl doesn't actually make it anymore.. melatonin gives me a hangover no matter how small does it take except I've been using the sleep patch which has melatonin which doesn't give me a hangover. For it to work and got a take it at least an hour or more before I really want to go to bed.

Sitting in vascular docs office waiting for hopefully my last treatment for my veins ...change has been amazing...

feel a little nauseous today... don't know if it is start of allergies or what.

That is what I have eaten so far... not sure about the rest of the day because of the nausea.

ex: rest day as I will have a cast on my leg from my treatment

BTW... I procrastinated Friday so only got ½ my run in... but I couldn't let it intimidate me...so Sat AM got up at 6:45AM to get the run in... and did it!!

Did your insurance cover the costs for the vein removal? I really need to look into this, I actually think my legs swell a bit during the day because of it, and I know for sure that the veins are really showing worse since I've lost all this weight... never mind the fact they are grossly ugly, and some look like bruises, while others look like huge bulging veins sticking out!

Yes the insurance did cover BUT I did end up paying for some because it would have taken forever. I could only have one lasered then I've had the shots or schlerotherapy. The sclerotherapy they will only pay for 8 shots every 2 weeks...at that rate it would have taken me over a year. The Doctor doesn't nickel and dime me on the number of shots but I've had well over 100 already...

Proud of you for getting your run in Saturday. Lily won't let me procrastinate so I'm lucky there.

Benadryl affects me so strangely. I mean I know it is SUPPOSED to put you to sleep, but I never wake up! I sleep for days and never get out of the fog it puts over me. The worst post-op thing that happened to me was that I was allergic to the IV pain meds I got in the hospital so they pumped me full of Benadryl and I stayed asleep and didn't really walk up from surgery for over 24 hours. I had the doctors a little worried.

Wow! That is part of why I use the children's you have more control over dosage....smaller dose, but you can always take more. Well it did get you to sleep...LOL.
