Dumping is mostly from sugar. A piece of cake shouldn't even be in your thought process. I buy tiny dark Chocolate squares (1") at Whole Foods and allow myself up to one a day (but I'm 6 months out).
Excess carbs and all whites can cause major issues. White rice, white bread, pasta, dumplings, etc are probably gone forever if you want success. Potato, real brown rice, real 100% whole grain bread, alternative pastas (black bean, quinoa) with no white rice or white flour are some of the things you can introduce after you reach your goal.
Remember, lots of people go through all of this process and fail. Follow the rules and be a sucess.
