I had my surgery the end of Sept. 2016 but I will still support you! :) It was very long process for me as well it took well over a 1 1/2 yrs before finally getting approved.

You will find that many people here will support your in journey. However I get the part of wanting to find people that are at the same part of the journey as you. This is a great place and I'm sure you will find people to hook up with. Good luck with everything!

Make sure your bowels are empty going into surgery day. This is very important for your post surgical comfort.

Hi

I'm new too. Was supposed to be having a sleeve done last week but due to complications I'm now going to have to have a RNY. This should be done in the next month, just waiting to see surgeon 2 wks post-op to sort out. I did Optifast for 2 wks prior to surgery. The actual doing it was easier than the thought of doing it! Always keep in mind the bigger picture (or as I like to say the bigger smaller picture) and why you are doing it. There will be the odd time where you crave something to eat instead of drink. I had sugar free hard lollies on hand, Weigh****chers jelly and had a water bottle always filled with water. It went everywhere with me.

All the very best with your surgery. It is going to be an amazing journey, sometimes frustrating and challenging but it will be worth it. Hang in there!

I start my pre-surgery diet on Tuesday. I know I can do it because in the end I will be so much healthier. I never thought of the weigh****chers jelly. Great idea but just a teaspoon or so to get over the humps. I understand that after 3 days or so you are in ketosis and it's not so bad after that.

SR- After about 3 days, you won't even think about it anymore...you'll just DO it!!! I would caution you against too many "added" things...even "diet" ones, during this time...Just stick to your health team's plan, and really try to push the water
