How often does food get stuck, and how bad is it?

Regarding the blood sugar issues ... there does not seem to be any clear, definitive understanding yet of why blood sugar levels fall drastically after RNY. I've read that it may be due to the rerouting or gut bacteria or a combination of many factors. It definitely is not tied to actual weight loss because it drops very quickly, usually within hours after surgery. My first blood glucose level (that I was aware of) was taken after I got to my room, about 5 hours after surgery. It was 92 and my fasting levels have remained below 100 consistently. I am almost 6 months out now from surgery. I love the fact that I'm losing weight and healthier and feeling better, but seriously, even if the diabetic issues were the only benefit from the surgery, it would have still been worth it. My diabetes, before surgery, was escalating rapidly. It was alarming. It's a thrill every morning to check my BS and see it so low. BTW, my doctor says I will always have the diabetic diagnosis. It still requires monitoring, although maybe not so frequently as before.
