I had RNY surgery 6 years ago. But now what do I do?

Thanks.

I try stepping on the scale every day; I feel a love/hate relationship with it.

Everything everyone else has said - plus

Get a digital food scale and weigh your foods. you have to be accountable and keep carbs under 40 a day to lose.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

So much great, honest advice!

The hardest part will be going those first few days without all the junk... you WILL DETOX! Our bodies get addicted to the crappy (Oh so yummy) carby foods...

You will have to suffer through that... but if you set your mind to it, once you are done with the detox, you won't crave that crap again until you talk yourself into eating it again.

I think you have gotten good advice (though I disagree with the no fruit) choose higher fiber, lower sugar like berries as an example. We did not get fat from eating berries. The processed crap is what did it.

For me the biggest help is the mindset change you need to make from food for comfort and pleasure to food as fuel or nutrition. I was actually afraid for you that your food choices seem to contain nothing that actually nourishes your body. I hope you have been doing regular blood test follow ups and maintaining your vitamin regimen.

I think you could be very successful if you can detox from all the faux food you are eating. Plan and prep real food like dense protein, colourful fruits and vegetables and start walking again.

All of thee above. JuniperBerry laid it out... and you got a few bonus ideas. This has always been a tool. Change is hard but change is required.

White knuckle the first few days...and the cravings will get easier. Make a plan. Come here and be accountable...

In addition to the great advice you've gotten, try to prepare meals ahead of time, not when you're rushed and heading out the door in the morning. Package meals up when you make dinner, or cook on the weekend and portion things up for your meals then.

If you're not seeing a therapist already, add one to your team.
