What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
You should do what that lady on the Allstate commercial does when they wave at you - look them straight in the eye and saw "You want my number?"

You are doing such a great job Erin! Fantastic menu! Your lunch & dinner are one of my staples! I always have a pound of ground beef/taco seasoning/shredded cheese/sour cream in the fridge for the nights I don't feel like making a big meal!
As for the attention on your bike, get used to it. On your bike, on the sidewalk, in the line up at a store... its truly frustrating that we are the same women in the inside its just the outside that is changing yet "society" does not see it that way. Not sure if you wear a helmet but you could always pretend to pick your nose if someone was giving you unwanted attention, that will sure stop them in their tracks LOL LOL LOL
keep up the great work. 33 lbs to go to get to your goal, you are doing awesome!
Yes, most certainly a helmet! That's the baffling part, it's not like they know what I look like. I'm in a helmet and an armored jacket! So, it's apparently just my size!

Good morning! The weather here is bouncing around as it is everywhere... partly cloudy and in the 60's for the next few days. I'm ready for the typical California sun everyday w/no rain until October. I've got a lot hiking to do!
I've heard of people becoming lactose intolerant post op and I'm wondering if it might be happening to me...Lately coffee has me feeling funky w/dairy regret... I though it might be the benefiber or miralax, but it happens when I don't add it and at Starbucks too.
QOTD - In 8th grade I was 150 and went on my first diet at 'The Diet Center' and got down to 120. I'm convinced this sent my body spiraling, my goodness I was only 13. I was 220 by 10th grade and stayed there for most of my teens and 20's. After having my son at it slowly went up. I hit 300 at 43 and teetered between 290 and 309 until surgery.
4+month post op

v/l - feeling a bit dehydrated, I cannot seem to drink enough! Yesterday was really tough for some reason.
e-pilates class tonight
Have a great day!

Hey Amy, I became lactose intolerant after RNY. Took me longer though, I was 2 yrs and a bit post op. I used to get a vanilla latte from starbucks every morning, i would go to my desk and within minutes of drinking it get stabbing pains in my belly. Truly dumb on my part I never but 2 + 2 together... then one day I asked starbucks to make it with Lactaid milk, and VIOLA, no pain!!! My husband has been lactose intolerant for years so i just started drinking his milk and I have been fine ever since! I can eat hard cheese but soft cheese like Brie or Boursin is killer and sends me to the bathroom with stabbing pain. Too bad because I love all cheese lol
I really struggled in the beginning with getting my liquids in. It seemed like a full time job to me to eat, wait, drink, vitamins, eat, wait, drink, vitamins. It was A LOT! But you know I had a "talk" with myself close to around the time post op you are and I said "hey you signed up for this, don't screw it up, don't end up dehydrated and needing to go to the hospital, get your **** together, this is our new way of life, figure it out!!!" And I did. I made myself basically set timers on my phone for when I had to drink and for every meal or snack I ate I had to drink 16oz of fluids, no negotiation. It will get better, if I can do it I know you can! And I will be honest with you, I drink a lot of coffee (a lot) and that is how I get all my liquids in, if that's what it takes then that what I am going to do!
Great menu by the way, keep up the awesome job! Enjoy Pilates tonight!

Hi Daisy!! I was thinking of trying nut milks and I didn't even think of Lactaid, thanks!! I'm surprised to hear Starbucks has it, I will ask about it next time.
I have the reminders on my phone to drink and I set other mini goals to try to get it all in. I know it effects everything - the way you feel, bathroom issues, skin, headaches and more. I recently read a thread about kidney stones being caused by not hydrating enough. I have all the reasons in the world to do it! Some days I can chug, chug, chug, some days I just can't. I try to drink more warm liquids on those days, they go down way easier. I am absolutely committed to this and I will never give up!!

Not sure if the US starbucks carry Lactaid milk, they do here in Canada. But if not for sure go with Almond or Coconut milk, try it and see but for me switching to Lactaid milk was a game changer!
Drink, drink, drink!
Good morning,
Im happy with the scale this morning, im almost back down to my lowest weight. It sure helps when you don't binge eat as often. I only had one episode this past week.

I am happy to hear that you only had one binge last week, that is excellent progress! Keep up the great work!
