What exercise & activities do you do?
I'm almost 6 weeks post-op and on the cusp of being released to do more exercise. I've been walking faithfully every day and it is going well, but I don't want to get bored as the weeks go on. I love to swim as well and hope that my doctor will release me for water aerobics starting next week.
I'd love to hear what you do for exercise or other activities. I'm shopping for ideas!

I started at the gym using the elliptical then started on the treadmill, walking at first, then jogging and now I run seven miles 4-5 days a week. I've ran some 1/2 marathons too. Right now I'm resting from running while I let an injury to my hamstring heals and using the stair climber. Find something you enjoy for sure! Good luck.
Several years ago when I lost a large amount of weight I did some running, even a couple of 5K's. I have some interest, but I'm concerned about my knees and shins (I've had shin splints). Did you wait to start running until you had lost most of your weight?
Shin splits suck. They're most often caused by things that are easy to fix though! 1) ill fitting shoes. I highly recommend going to a local running store and getting professionally fitted for shoes. I did this before I'd even thought about running/WLS and it's a great experience. 2) bad training - people try to do too much, too soon, too fast and that leads to shin splints. Having a good, slow, and steady progression with training can help to prevent this from happening.
I started running at 260 pounds, when I'd lost about 60.

I agree with Kelly, find something you love and you will love doing it!
I LOVE to swim too and look forward to it at least 2x a week. I also love pilates and hiking, they are equally enjoyable for me. Not a big fan gym cardio/circuit training but I do it 1x a week to vary my work outs.
I think the more weight I lose, the more open I will be to trying the more challenging group classes at the gym.

I joined a masters synchronized swimming team, I did synchro for a year when I was a kid. It is so much fun and great exercise.

I'm almost 10 weeks out and love walking and bike riding. I was able to start bike riding last week and got out 4 times, even with the cold weather. I also went for several walks.
I also love swimming but my local pool put their prices up so not sure I can afford to join.
