my father has late stage Alzheimer's, so I can relate to what you're going through. My heart goes out to you...

My father battled frontal lobe dementia until he passed in 2010. I too can relate.

Thank you, my heart goes out to you too. It's not easy to watch your parents age in this manner. The most precious thing to me right now is when he recognizes me, his face lights up and he says my name

JB - Glad to hear Mom and Dad are improving. My weekend was busy with errands. I found out on Friday that my checking account was hacked, so spent some time trying to deal with that. There was a $700+ charge from a company called Schneider Electric . . . oddly enough, they sponsor the Paris Marathon. I'm hoping that I didn't sleep register to run my first marathon in Paris!! I'm hoping that it gets straightened out soon, but it sucks because now I have to spend a bunch of time making sure all my auto pay accounts are tied to my new account. Time I don't actually have. Other than that, all's good. Passover starts tonight. The holiday used to drive me crazy with the dietary restrictions (no flour, rice, beans, legumes . . . the list goes on). Now it's like, eh whatever since I stay away from the restricted list anyway.

JBQOTD: I know many don't believe in this (and I'm lucky that my surgeon understands nutrition and has great Registered Dietitians and not just nutritionists) but my words of wisdom is to follow everything my surgeon told me to do to the letter. When I decided to have surgery I had to acknowledge that clearly my way wasn't working. So, I told myself if my surgeon told me to stand on my head for 20 minutes before every meal, I would. I followed every rule and lost all my weight. It drives me CRAZY when people newly post op decide to modify the rules to fit their "lifestyle." How'd that work for you in the past????

My plan:

B: 2.8 oz ground turkey, .5 tbs pesto, 1 oz cheese

L: 3 oz chicken thigh, 1 oz carrots

D: BRISKET!!!! and broccoli

S: Skinny latte, 2 oz turkey, 1 oz cheese roll ups, light and fit if needed

E: If I can sneak out of work early enough to get home and run before dinner, then a run. If not, it will be my rest day.

So much yes to your QOTD! ((Except that I definitely drank with straws, because I am not 3 years old, and I was pretty sure I could handle that... Lol.))

LOL, I've walked into my surgeon's office drinking an iced tea from Starbucks through a straw. He didn't even blink an eye.

I'm still drinking without a straw and I hate it. I think I should relax on that rule.
