All About Eve!!! I am a Turner Classic Movie junkie and love Bette Davis. It will be great on the big screen. Glad to hear your parents are doing much better.

QOTD: hmmm.....I was a lurker for a long time - starting way before I had surgery - so I was truly in the right frame of mind when this all started. In fact, I wish I still had that level of commitment. I'm still doing fine, but it seems to be much easier to stray now than it did early on. It's a battle. UGH.

Long day today - I have the evening desk shift. Plus that means a weird eating day to boot. Thank God there's only a month left in the semester!!

22 months out (maintenance):

B: homemade Greek yogurt, raspberries

S: coffee with half & half, protein/fiber "Orange Julius"

L: 1 C cottage cheese, orange

D: probably a protein bar (can't really manage much more than that while at the desk)

I'm sure I'll have a L&F yogurt or two as well - like before I go on desk and when I get home....

My advice to myself is to learn to love and forgive yourself.

Listen to the vets. Really utilize the honeymoon faze. I thought I knew it all when I came here. I really had an awakening.

Morning everyone! Tonight I have tickets to the Phillies game and the weather will be awesome so I'm pretty exited about that.

Qotd: I would tell my pre-op self that the weight does not melt off. I realized that 'Melt' is subjective- for me melt would have meant 6-7# a week till reaching goal. Once I accepted what the rate of loss was I focused on exercise and nutrition and was able to build a liveable lifestyle while the weight loss occurred.

193.5 today, 23 months out

m1: protein bar and banana

m2: ribs, carrots

m3-4: ?? Stadium foods-- the best part of gong to a game!

Good morning all!

Glad to hear things continue to improve for you and your parents.

QOTD I would tell my pre op self to not be so hesitant to seek out help. I considered surgery for a really long time but didn't look into it seriously enough to know that it was even a realistic option. And my more recent pre op self would be told to relax and stop overthinking everything. Learning as much as you can is great but know that each persons experience will be unique so as prepared as you are living it is completely different.

At 600 calories I would say 38 carbs is high-ish in terms of ratio.

I never counted carbs per se, just made sure no individual items were high carb or high sugar. That being said on MFP I was usually never over 50, but that was when I was at a higher calorie count at that point....

Don't forget you need fat too...

I am having a hard time figuring out fat. I have been getting some from cheese, and have plans to add in a bit of avocado but it seems my carbs go up with the increased fat. Any tips? I do feel like my skin is so much dryer these days and I know that healthy fat will help with that. I am only a month out and in the pureed stage so that is limiting, too.
