I'm sorry to hear about your Dad! Sending good thoughts your way!
My Mother was an office manager for a dental practice. Sadly, we lost her and my step father together when they were hit by a car by a drunk driver when my Mother was 44. My father is a regional manager for Verizon (the phone/internet portion, not the wireless branch). He just turned 57 and has been working for them for 38 years! He's thinking of retiring this year and traveling.
It's cold and wet today. I want to go home and curl up in bed with my Outlander book. Sadly, that's not an option.
It's strange because some of the clothes that were distinctly too small on me, and I couldn't wait to get back into, are now too big. I actually felt bummed about that this morning. The brain is weird. I mean, come on brain - we're losing! At this point I have tapped out my closet shopping I think, and will need to move on to thrift store finds.

QOTD: My dad was a police officer until I was 8. After that he worked in sales, cars, travel, guns, etc. My mom and dad owned several businesses in our small town when I was little. Montogomery Wards catalog store, Auto body shop, travel agency, bus charter service, flower shop and a gun shop. Both drove school bus when I was little as well. But for the past 25 years their main job is taking old people gambling. They run a charter tour business that mainly goes to casinos al over the US. My mom hopes to retire when she is 75, lol.

So sorry about your Dad. Hope they determine the issue and he has a good outcome. My parents both passed many years ago, but DH's parents both have a lot of health issues and we're always waiting for the next call to go to the hospital for another issue.
QOTD: Dad worked/managed a fruit farm that also had a small herd of beef cattle until I was early teens then he became a "State Worker" on the road crew until he had to retire for medical (heart surgery) reasons. Mom was a maid (that's what they were called then) at a local hotel in my early years and later worked in a shoe factory until she had to retire to take care of my Dad. Both very hard-working people who I respected tremendously. They worked so hard and sacrificed so much to take care of their children. I miss them a lot.

Oh Julia, give dad a hug from all of us, and please know I'm swinging chickens, and sending a ton of positive thoughts to him, you, and your mom
Dad's are our first loves, and they mean the world!
QOTD: My mom was an administrative assistant most of her life, crossing into legal assistant because she seemed to always work for a legal department (Texaco for like 15-20 years) or a law firm. She retired a while back, and now she works part time at Catholic Charities doing Admin stuff. My dad owns his own company and imports Italian and Mexican carved stone/fountains/etc Architectural Accents. I actually designed that (very old) website for him about 17 years ago... I have very little recollection of how I actually created it, nor can I do anything with it, and it frustrates him to no end. He's a very young 70-years old, and this past weekend completed 56 miles in a 62 mile bike marathon him and my step mom did. I am so very proud of him, and I hope that I take after him with the 'young' genes... I'll post a pic from after their race. Can you tell my dad is my everything?! (Not that I don't love my mom, just a much more strained relationship).
Weight this morning 146.4 almost 11 months out...
B: leftover shrimp scampi 4 shrimp/ about 3 ounces
L: See above
D: Taking son to an LGBT youth group meeting that I finally found for him, so he'll eat there, and I don't know what I'll do (if I stay or if I go depends on him) if I leave, I'll go grab something protein forward
Patches on, and need to start getting more supplements in like my extra calcium and B1

Good morning everyone!
JB so sorry to hear about the scary situation with your Dad. Hoping he feels better soon and you all get some answers, the waiting is tough. Stay strong and stay positive!
QOTD My dad was a manager in a factory that made parts for the automotive industry and my mom had a bunch of different jobs over the years. My parents owned a business for awhile which my mom ran and she had a variety of other retail type jobs. My dad passed away shortly after he retired at 62 and my mom who is now retired still umpires softball most nights in the summer and marshals at a golf course for a little extra cash... and because she likes being bossy. Lol

QOTD: My Mom was a SAHM, but she was very involved in the PTA and was president of the county PTA at one point. My Dad started his own business, that my brothers now run. What is called point-of-sales displays... those things in the store that hold the 'stuff' with advertising on them to try and make you buy :). He both designed and manufactured. He was an Artist by trade so he wanted the design element included. For a long time back in the 80's-90's one of his big accounts was No Nonsense Pantyhose. He called it his 'bread and butter'... So those racks that held the pantyhose in the aisle of the store, had the ads, and sizes etc...My Dad designed and manufactured them. A current one they have is Keurig coffee- So the display in the Aisle of Walmart- to hold the boxes of coffee that has like 4 giant K-cups in the corners- designed and manufactured by my brothers. Free Coffee for me :) get a lot of free Duracell batteries, Gillette razors, Oral-B Electric toothbrushes, swiffers, and other things out of this deal :)
