I'm so sorry about your dad JB! Praying for a good resolution. Xoxo
QOTD: My mom has worked at various factory jobs, retail and waitressing. And a few years doing home care for seniors. My dad was an electrician. He's retired now but he's saved us $1000s over the years.
I'm still on a downward streak on the scale- lost .8 lbs today and that brings me to a total loss of 60.3 lbs. 12 weeks post-op. So pleased with my progress. I have to go for labs soon and found out that the lab I went to for my initial blood work will allow you to access your results for free online. So I'm excited to have easy access for trending and comparison.
We had a quiet night last night. We had our bible study so no celebrating and tonight I'm going to a drum fit class with some gals from my local bariatric support group. Should be fun.
B: protein shake but switched my milk to skin. Same protein but 40 less calories.
L: Mexican ground beef- ground beef with salsa and cream cheese. We needed an easy dinner last night.
D: once again I don't know. :( I have to start planning dinners better
S: egg custard
Treated myself to a cafeinated Americano Misto this a.m as I've been doing a great job at getting water in.
Have a great day everyone. JB I will be thinking about you and your dad.

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.
77 lbs lost and counting!
Losing the regain! I got this!
So sorry to hear what going on with your dad. I hate waiting in general, but waiting at a hospital is the worst. My thoughts are with you and your family. I hope they get something figured out soon.
I am still frustrated with my scale. I did finally lose 1 of the pounds that I gained. It is really frustrating having the scale not move but it is even worse having it go up two pounds for no reason. I am doing everything I am supposed to be doing so I know it will eventually go down, I just have to have patience...not my strong suite.
QOTD: My dad was a plumber by trade and my mom was a stay at home mom until 1984 when they decided to start a plumbing business 2000 miles from where we lived. My dad went and got it started and we ended up moving there in 1985. It started out as mostly residential plumbing, and turned into a commercial business. Dad ran the company and my mom did all the paperwork, payroll, etc. They were both able to retire in 2000 and move back to where my dad was born and raised. In fact all of my siblings but 1 moved back with them, or shortly after they did.
* Edited to add that I also followed them (back home) too.

I am just a couple weeks further out than you from surgery but I did go up almost 2 lbs. I know I couldn't have ate too much since I don't think I was even eating yet at the time. I think it was because I had gotten too dehydrated and so the scale went up when my body rehydrated. It was very frustrating so I feel you! But that may be what your body is doing as well.

You got this! Your body raided all it's cupboards to feed it's self the first few weeks, now it has to use your minimal calories to try to rebuild it's emergency stores so it can continue to heal from the surgery and you can continue to have energy.
YOUGOTTHIS!!!!

JB, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad and will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Hospital food can be the worst sometimes. You would think they would have healthier options. I have seen some changes in that direction at our hospitals here, especially at Vermont Medical which a lot of healthy options and even a weekly farmer market come in...I thought Wow!
I hope they get to the reason for the seizures and resolve his health issues. Please take care. {{{{{hugs!}}}}}
