RNY complications 10 yrs later

I had RNY done in 2003. Surgery went well. A couple of years later had to have gallbladder surgery, also went well. Maintained my 100+ pound weight loss.

In 2013 i had an abscess in my abdomen. After 10 days the Dr's decide i need emergency surgery because the abscess had ruptured. They go in to fix it and clean out the poison that was now all in my abdominal cavity. When they where done they let me know that it happened because the excess stomach was left inside of me. Do not know why or how the abscess happened. I was told that some dr's leave it in just in case the surgery needs to be undone.

I went leave the hospital after having the staples removed. I was walking to my car. I had just got the elevator and my stomach busted open and fluid was coming out of me. I was rushed to the emergency room. I had developed 3 fistulas. Also had had to have a nicked artery cotterized.

Now here I am almost 4 yrs later have put back on 50 pounds. I am eating the same as i did before.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what i should do now?

sorry to hear about your complications.

What does eating the same as before look like? are you still food journaling and tracking? If not, i would start there. back to basics.

May be, but your metabolism may have slowed for some reason. I assume you've had your thyroid checked etc.

You will have to make changes to lose and you may have to make some to maintain.
