Goals for my new decade

Best wishes to you on your goal. You will get there.

I try to focus on myself during meals. I was a one who would house their food at the end of the meal. I usually was talking the whole time.

Fixing my plate first. I also in the early faze would use a smaller fork. Or spoon. Using the right size of plate does help also.

Counting seconds while you chew may help also. It does save from a lot of pain at meal times. It sucks to have to leave the table because you ate too fast. Just slow down and enjoy.

Have a Happy Birthday.

I turn 50 in July. I feel better now than I did when I was 25.

I recommend only ever eating at a table and with no distractions aside from dining companions. No TV, no phone, etc. Put your fork down between each bite and, while chewing, think about how the food tastes and feels in your mouth. Think about how it smells. Pay attention to the act of eating :)

Happy birthday!

Those are wonderful goals. Your friend sounds so considerate, to make a cake you can eat.

The walk by the lake sounds lovely; I can't wait until our snow is all gone so I can walk the trails here.

I eat very slowly because I have no choice. I don't want a sore stomach so I take a bite and put the fork or spoon down, wait, chew like crazy, swallow, and wait a few minutes before the next bite. Except when eating easy to digest foods like yogurt or cottage cheese; I can go faster with those, although not fast.

Hope you had a fantastic 50th. I'm planning a big destination party for mine next year. Sounds like good goals for me. as for mindful eating, I do better with chopsticks. Maybe try that.

My dietitian suggested getting a baby spoon and fork to be able to take smaller bites-- maybe that would help?
