Good morning everyone!

My BIL would likely fall to the ground weeping if he was standing were you are in that first pic...or the second.. or third. He's a huge Red Sox fan, actually a pretty big Boston fan in general (Bruins etc.) but has never been.

My plans for today include walking into town to do some errands, something I have done embarrassingly few times in the 14 years I've lived here. We're not talking about a big trek by any stretch, maybe 25 mins, but it's hilly and I've always made excuses. Situations like this get me so frustrated with my old attitude and laziness.

QOTD One of my families traditions is having the first dinner of the new year together. It's changed over the years of course, family and friends have come and gone, but that will happen over 20+ years. A long time friend of mine joined us way back when my aunt started hosting the dinner in the late 90's and has been joining us again the past few years with his son so it's kinda cool.

4+ months post op

B- coffee w/ 1/2 vanilla premier (not as good as chocolate in coffee)

D- pork tenderloin

S- skyr w/ orange protein powder, homemade jerky (have to act quickly on this or it disappears)

JB, not going to lie, I was hoping for pics of the lobster grilled cheese!

QOTD- No real annual event... I'll have to change that!

I definitely felt the effects of returning to work so quickly (I say day six, the office staff starts counting post-op the first day after surgery so they said yesterday was day five?) I went home, took a Percocet and went to bed! I woke up around 9 and got up to eat a hard boiled egg, then stayed up until midnight sipping water. This morning was rough, I just felt weak, so I ate a hard boiled egg and waited to sip any water until I got into the office. I think I've been sipping water too close to my food, and I'm not digesting enough of the protein. I have one of those fancy bathroom scales with the hand held part that measures your body fat, visceral fat, and muscle. I don't take it's output as exact but it's helpful for showing trends. This morning it showed I was down another pound, but indicated it came from muscle tissue not fat. The first few drops were fat burning so I'm really going to focus on my protein and letting my little pouch have the time it needs to do it's thing!

Hard boiled egg is a tough protein for so early out, make sure you are taking small bites and chewing really well...

Biggest thing is the fluids right now to keep you feeling well, especially going back to work. I found sucking on an occasional white tic tac helpful with nausea if needed.

You will always lose some muscle while losing weight. We try to minimize it with eating protein but it will happen. Don't get yourself crazy over that.

Set the timer on your phone for 30 minutes after you done eating. That helps to remind you to wait as well as remind you to start drinking...

Glad that you're back to work, but remember that your body is trying to heal. You need rest too! Take it easy and be good to yourself.

Uhm...Where is the pic of the grilled cheese? We are formally MO people... we want to live vicariously through your Lobstah grilled cheese....

Opening day a reminder my son isn't around...Mr. Baseball. I know he is watching from afar because he subscribes to MLB.com and gets all the games. I turned the page on my calendar my DIL makes me every year with photos...and there of course for April is a pic of my son and grandson watching a baseball game.

Having a hard time over here....am so frustrated. Had what I thought was a fine day yesterday...but scale went up again. I keep trying to examine what I need to change. No faux carbs happened in a couple of days, but things still not right. Boo.

Missed the menu board yesterday, but did catch up on the QOTD last night and thought it was a great one. One big change for me is counting protein. I had counted calories, points, carbs but never protein before.

So decided to change the order of my life and start with a protein drink first thing rather than coffee....

EDIT: QOTD: I love during the summer to go down to Port Jefferson harbor near my house..a very touristy town the ferries from Connecticut come in there. There is an open air seafood restaurant that has buy one lobster get one free on Thursdays. So I like to go on a Thursday at sunset and sit outside, eat my lobster and enjoy the water and watching the boats.

B: Protein Shake- Syntrax Chocolate truffle and PB Powder and spinach

S: Coffee w/fairlife/miralax - have considered trying protein in coffee but not sure I am ready to make the jump :)

L: Ham and mozzarella, fruit salad

S: protein drink - fuzzy navel

D: Lamb chop, sauteed spinach

S: Protein hot chocolate

I am not usually this heavy on the protein drinks...but I am just like _I have to change things up...and liquids are easiest. I am also trying to add some fruit and veggies to my day. We will see.

ex: running app during day and Personal trainer later....

If you are on Instagram I am cyndym222 posted an interesting Before and after today for #transformationtuesday
