I'm glad your weekend was enjoyable and productive. Mine was very enjoyable but I got nothing done that I was hoping to... Oh well...

QOTD: Drinking fluids for sure. I think I used to get through the day on barely any liquids and now I feel like I'm constantly drinking and I know that is helping things move along.

B: decaf and protein hot chocolate

L: prosciutto, babybel

D: Wendy's grilled chicken without bun (on the run tonight)

S: String cheese, more protein hot chocolate

Drinking... I swear I get just a little panicky if I forget my water bottle in the car... I've actually recently thrown a six pack of water in my car so it's there... 'just in case'!

QOTD- Bread. I bake a great loaf of sour dough bread. I let it rise in a floured basket so it has these really cool lines on it, then bake it in a big stone loaf dish... I stopped baking bread, I rarely buy bread.

I am so happy to report that I'm doing well, the pain has been manageable today, and I'm back in the office this afternoon pretending to work! (OK.. I am working, but maybe not as diligent as I could). I've discovered "head hunger" which is somewhat amusing to experience.

Hello all -

Finally a day off. It was a long three days. I have absolutely no plans for today, just going to take it easy today.

QOTD: I have noticed since surgery I have really savored every small bite that I eat. Before surgery I really didn't pay attention to what I was eating, I just ate.

Today's menu:

Protein shake

2 ounces smoked salmon

Cottage cheese

Sugar free pudding 1/2 container (used to take my medicine)

Calories - 390, Protein - 62, Carb - 16

Hi everyone,

QOTD: I have been using cheese a lot less. After surgery, as soon as I was able to I used it on everything. Now I only use a 1/2 slice on my eggs. I also learned that eating a little more fat in my diet has made things move along easier.

B: 2 eggs, turkey breakfast sausage, 1/2 slice cheese

L: 3oz turkey breast

S: 2oz turkey breast, .75oz prosciutto & mozzarella

D: 4oz shrimp, 2 fork fulls of broccoli rabe w/evoo & garlic

S: chobani plain yogurt, 1/2 tbs sf apricot preserve

Cals:623, Carbs: 13, Protein:99

I agree with you about the about the fat. At first I was buying low fat cheese and meats wherever I could, now I use the full fat. I noticed the biggest difference in my super dry skin.

I think I'll be the last Menu of the day! Yikes! It was an early start to a crazy day! Then grocery shopping and an impromptu dinner out with family. So fun!

im going to catch up on some of the days posts before bed!

qotd: I suppose it isn't a little thing for many, but cutting out the empty calories from alcohol, has been a huge thing for me. Now when I think about how many pints I've had over the years.....it's crazy what effect one hangs in behaviour can have! That's not even considering the poor food choices I would make too!

Menu:

not a model Rny day. Calories were a bit on the low side

B: premiere protein shake

L: 1/2 cottage cheese

D1.5 oz of rotisserie chicken and about 2 oz of shrimp

calories: 396, protein 72 and carbs 10.

G'night everyone!

Hey, hey! I want to join in on the thread :) My first post!

3 years, 11 months post op / 194.4 lbs / aiming for -1 lb per week diet (1,991 kcal limit)

  • Breakfast (337kcal): 2 XL Scrambled Eggs, Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage crumbles (75g), Shredded Cheddar Cheese (20g)
  • AM Snack (130kcal): Dannon Greek Yogurt w/ Toppings
  • Lunch (379 kcal): Homemade Turkey Chili (271g) w/ cheddar cheese (20g)
  • PM Snack (240 kcal): Beef Jerky (3oz)
  • Dinner (468 kcal): Two homemade chicken tacos w/ cheddar cheese and lettuce
  • Late Night Snack (440 kcal): 10 pieces of Dove PB milk chocolate (individually wrapped)

Total Calories: 1,994

One thing that has been HUGE for me is getting dressing on the side of a salad and using VERY little of it. In fact, I use condiments sparingly since surgery. These are things that can really add up and it can be easy to not even be aware of adding them.

Exercise: Long walk, goal to get 10k steps daily!
