I figured you must have diabetes if you were monitoring so closely. I knew about insulin pumps, but not about continuous glucose monitoring. Always like to be educated, so thanks. And love Siggis BTW!!

Diabetes is such a balancing act. I was so happy to be working out, and so disappointed that it mean poor BG control for several hours post work out. I'm glad I seem to have found a quick solution.

I just started eating Siggi's and I love it! We had, had a brief conversation about it and the fact you eat the unflavored and add to it. I wasn't ready to commit to that since I eat everything but dinner at work and mixing in stuff is harder to pack. But, I bought their flavored yogurts and they are great too and only 14g of carbs (vs 9g in the Dannon L&F I was eating). I like the taste a lot better too.

It is funny...I find them at Target and there are 2 types of flavored- and one has more sugar than the other- the regular cup ones, more sugar- the flat cup ones less sugar but the only flavor they ever seem to have is strawberry rhubarb, which I like- but one flavor??? LOL....

These are the regular cup ones I think. We live in the middle of nowhere and we don't have a Target (sad!), so this is our local grocery store. I'm ok with the amount of carbs they have because I'm getting in 15-16g of protein and this early out that's like a whole meal for me!

My husband bought them last time for me, but he found blueberry, mixed berry w/ acai and vanilla.

Good morning wonderful people. I'm feeling a bit rough today. I think that the last 2 weeks of running everything is starting to catch up to me. I slept a lot this weekend, but I got a lot done and my house is still a disaster. The only thing that is keeping me from going completely insane is that my oldest son has Spring Break this week and I think he's going to be doing a lot of house work for me while I'm at work. I have to take Wednesday off to take my hubby to his 2 week follow up with the surgeon *****paired his Achilles. Hoping that the surgeon will tell him to start moving around more, since he's been pretty immobile since the surgery. His pain is getting better, so personally, I think it's time for him to start being more active. EVEN if he doesn't do any housework or contribute in anyway, I get worried that he's been so sedentary for so long.

JBQOTD: I think that something small that I've done is just moving more. I think it's got to do with the ability to move more, and the motivation. The DESIRE, really. I feel so much better physically, and while you guys see me whine and moan about my life and struggling with food, etc, my life is SO MUCH BETTER now than it has ever been my entire adult life. You can just imagine how much of a peach I was pre-op when I had health issues and was miserable, lol. How anyone could stand me is beyond me.

I'm starting A Pound of Cure this week, starting today. It's pro-veggie and fruit. It doesn't call for calorie tracking, but being the obsessive person that I am, I am tracking calories. If it works and I find that I'm consistently staying in a good calorie range, maybe I won't track, but it's a non-issue at this point. I shopped this weekend and food prepped a bit. So my plan is pretty spot on. I am cheating a tiny bit on the pound of cure by adding a small amount of low fat feta cheese to my menu for lunch, but other wise I'm spot on. I weighed in this morning at 162.6. I didn't take my measurements, but I'll take them first thing in the morning tomorrow to get a baseline.

Tomorrow is my 20 month surgiversary!

B: 2 eggs scrambled. Coffee with unsweetended almond milk

L: cucumbers, tomatoes and chick peas with 2oz of fat free feta, a splash of red wine vinegar and 1/2 tbls of olive oil.

D: chili made with grassfed ground beef

S: sliced strawberries, grapes. 4 mini red bell peppers. 1 hard boiled egg.

totals

Calories 987 Protein 68 carbs 93 (I refuse to freak out) fat 39

That is a lot of snack foods, and I probably won't eat it all.

Also, today is the one year anniversary of my first 5k that I ever ran.

Good morning menu Folks! Lily and I have our 3.2 miles in already even though it was drizzling. She doesn't mind getting damp and I hate the treadmill so we powered through it. If we can catch a dry time after supper well do another mile too. QOTD the biggest change was measuring my food. Most things I do by volume but most times if I eyeballed my portions they would be far too much. Post op 4 years 7 months and weight at 117.8 today. Have to do laundry, give Lily a bath, pay bills, stop the mail and load clothes and meds into the camper so we can be ready to take off early tomorrow afternoon. We'll be gone til the day before Easter but I'll check in if we have WiFi anywhere. Still having to battle the urge to eat more. I stayed on plan yesterday but wanted to eat so bad before bed that I had a cup of herbal tea instead. Here's today's food B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1 c chili D 31/2 oz baked fish 1/2 c Tuscan veggie blend S Wyld meat bar and Pure Protein bites. Have a great day everyone and make some smart and conscious choices that move you one step closer to your goal!

Good morning!

I had a similarly balanced mix of productive and relaxed over the weekend. Yesterday the weather was gorgeous and a burst of ambition had me starting the spring clean up in the yard but I still made time for a couple walks and some sitting. Sitting with the sun on your face feels so springy.

QOTD So many come to mind but one is being more aware of how things taste. Not the memory of how they taste or the idea of how delicious it's going to be but actually paying attention to the food going in my face. If it's not yum why bother? Rather than eating something because you ordered it or it looked good in the store it turns out that walking away from food is perfectly acceptable. Another thing I didn't often (or ever) do.

Menu is unknown today beyond breakfast and I'm only certain of breakfast because I've already finished it. Appointments today and going to visit my mom this afternoon/evening.

Have a great week!
