It was cold smoked salmon. I had never eaten it before surgery. I like cooked salmon so thought I would give it a try. I bought 2 small packages at the grocery store and got 5 2 ounce servings out of it. It was really good.

dreary, gloomy day - might be a good day for staying in and making soup (beef barley, I'm thinking....). I may also try to make a yoga class this afternoon. It's good for my stress.

QOTD: I don't know if I have any "hobbies", although I seem to spend a lot of time keeping up with WLS forums and issues, reading the news (mostly online, but sometimes in print, too), finding new recipes, cooking, hanging out at coffee places. I also enjoy yoga and Aqua Zumba. We used to travel a lot but haven't done it in several years. I'm trying to find new things to do because my husband and I have different work schedules now (he works mainly evenings and weekends). I need more social interaction and things to keep me busy. I noticed a flyer for a women's social justice book discussion group at a coffee shop the other day, and several of the books they're discussing are ones that I've been wanting to read anyway (like "Evicted" and "Hillbilly Elegy"), so I'm now reading the book that will be discussed at the meeting this Thursday evening. It'll be my first meeting with them - looking forward to it!

22 months out (as of tomorrow!). Planning my menu *right now*!

B: Triple Zero coconut yogurt, 1 T cacao nibs, 5 strawberries, 1 T Kashi Crunch granola

S: coffee with half & half, mango protein/fiber shake

L: 1/2 chicken salad wrap, orange

D: leftover Jamaican pork stir fry

probably another yogurt or protein pudding pop later

I wish I could go to Aqua Zumba tonight, but I need to stay off my ankle until this numbness goes away. Boo. So I'll go to yoga instead.

Good morning weekenders!

The farmers market yesterday was a lot of fun. It was a good day for wandering around and we stayed until the end which meant we scored some great deals as the vendors were packing up. Since we were there over lunch time I got myself a smoked turkey leg to munch on. A 2 1/4 lb turkey leg so I got a few interesting looks but my leftovers came home and divided up into 4 more meals and the remainder is in the crock pot right now becoming smoked turkey and lentil soup. Not bad for $5. I also sampled some gourmet pork rinds and a bag of those came home with me too. I tried them once a few months ago after reading about them here and didn't like them enough to get them again but the fresh ones from the gourmet chippery are so tasty.

Today I'm making soup and there is a batch of jerky that needs to get into the dehydrator. My mom made it home last night from her 3 week vacation so I will hopefully be heading up there some time today too.

B- coffee w/ 1/2 chocolate premier

L- turkey and lentil soup

D- pork side ribs (he bought everything they had left when she said $1.99/lb)

S- coffees w/ remaining chocolate premier

Totals 709 cal, 74g protein, 26g carbs

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Yay, Sunday! Today I have to finish some chores around the house, take my little guy to his indoor soccer game this afternoon and then pack and travel for work. I'll be traveling through Wednesday this week.

I used to have hobbies now my me time, which isn't much as I'm always running around with the kids which I love as well, is usually taking Griff our Sheppard mix out for long walks w/o kids. I enjoy it more as I can walk faster and further without little feet.

B:2tbls Fage Zero

S: Chocolate Injury+Fairlife Milk+PB2

L: 1tbls retried beans+ 1tbls melted lowfat cheese

S: Grapefruit Nectar

D: Grapefruit Nectar

Skipping my evening "meal" as I'll be driving off the mountain tonight and don't see a point going to a restaurant to pick up 2tbls of food or packing that LOL

My hotel is supposed to have a nice fitness center so I'm looking forward to getting to explore it.

I loved when we stayed in motels so I could try different brands a types of fitness equipment. And I loved it as weight came off and I no longer felt self conscious. Have fun!

Forgot the QOTD...

My favourite non food related hobby is organizing a charity golf tournament with my mom and sister for our local Ronald McDonald House, something I'm very passionate about. In 2008 my dad had just retired (at 62) and as a member of a local service group was in charge of organizing a golf tournament for RMH. The rest of the family got involved too and we decided that service grou*****t it was something we were going to make an annual event. As we were planning the 2009 tournament my dad was diagnosed with kidney cancer and unfortunately passed away 3 months later. We renamed the tournament in his memory and have continued it ever since, raising over $75000 to support the families that use the RMH. I know there are countless charities out there that do amazing work but for anyone looking for a non food related hobby I highly recommend volunteering or getting involved with a RMH if there's one in your area. It's an incredible place.

Hobbies! Well, I'm an avid reader and have been since childhood. I love, LOVE to travel. If not for my children who need a "home base" I would be a nomad, I think. We live at the base of the Adirondack mountains and just bought a camp in the Adirondack park itself, so I'm looking forward to some outdoor time and hiking. My husband and I both ride on/off road motorcycles (dualsports).

B: Siggi's Mixed Berry Yogurt & Babybel

L: Deli Turkey spread with a 35 calorie laughing cow & a cabot cheese square

Morning RNY'ers! I'm at work (Booo!!) but am hoping to only stay till noon. I'll either run or exercise at home later this afternoon/early this evening. I'm in a bit of a funky- feel disconnected with hubby. Just feel like our live are parallel, rather than intersecting. I'm excited for him though cause e was offered another position in another department. He worked for that department years ago and loved it there- but left cause it had no growth capacity. They specifically called him because they recalled his work ethic/skill set, and thought he would be a good fit. Its no more $; but at least his should won't be dying slowly like it is where he is now.

QOTD: Nope, no hobbies-- unless you call shopping a hobby :-) I realize once I figure out the 'ta-do' about something- I drop it pretty quickly. So anything I pick up a sudden interest in is typically short lived.

23 month out 195 today

M1: 4oz baked oatmeal, greek yogurt & berries

M2: spaghetti sauce w/ ground beef, mozzarella & ricotta

M3: lunch meat roll up/ cashews 1oz

M4: Shrimp scampi or chicken Alfredo (sans noodles for me)

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I've been in a stall the last two weeks that finally broke today! I was as convinced as we all are when it happens that I was done losing. It's such a pain when that stupid thing stops for awhile. I've been trying very hard at just ignoring it and believing it will again pick back up.

QOTD: I enjoy knitting (which I rarely have time to do), water aerobics (not sure that's a hobby), looking at houses for sale,(I'm weird and should probably be a realtor) and sitting with my kitties. Unfortunately I also love shopping but I don't have the wallet to match!
