OMG you are in the right place! I was feeling like you, too old, too set in my ways... But there are plenty of members here that are eligible for AARP and achieving amazing long term weight loss! I've been so motivated!

'course you can do it if you do the work. You've already lost 86 lbs, so why do you question another, what, 35? Git in there! You can lose even more if you choose.
What I really want to talk about is this boyfriend chap. $100 isn't good enough. You took on a life-changing endeavor and are almost there. Any gift he gives you by way of congratulations and incentive should equal your endeavor in its life-changing capability. $100,000 sounds about right.
215 at 5'5" is a BMI of 36. Many people get weight loss surgery at that weight. My surgeon wants all of his patients to get under a BMI of 30, so for someone your height, that would be 180. I think you need to go for at least 180.
From my 10 years of personal observations in the weight loss community, those who do not work hard to get to a healthy goal weight seem to gain most of it back.
I am 50 and 5'7" tall. I had RNY 8.5 years ago. My highest weight was 339 and my current weight is 140. I work hard to stay here. My joints feel so much better at this weight. I know with my bad knees and back that I need to stay at this weight especially as I get older.

I am 5'7...had WLS at age 44, weighing 340...yea, I had big bones, and a pretty face...
My surgeon and I chose 170, as this would be half my starting weight. At the time, I couldn't imagine it, so I agreed!
Fast forward lots of time...today I usually weigh 160...For whatever reason 155 seems hard to maintain, and my silly brain goes into "fat girl diet mode", and starts thinking about boiled eggs and grapefruits....So, 160 works for me. I haven't had any PS, so I tell myself that's where those 5 lbs are :)

We Can Do Hard Things
You can definitely get there! I'm 57 and have lost 81 lbs since surgery, but a total of 142 overall. My goal is 175, and I'm 5'3". After that, I may set a new goal, who knows.
So you can do it, but do it for yourself, not someone else. That being said...take his money! We could all use an extra $100!
Yes it is very much doable.Keep going and you will be at goal weight before you know it.If you decide to lose more you can do that too. I think it is smart to set small goals ,so you can feel like you are achieving them sooner than waiting for a far off long time goal. Good luck in your journey. Boyfriend is a keeper.
