I will be interested to hear what you think of pound of cure... I am just trying to make a point to add veggies to my lunch and dinner or snack... I did some veggie prep this week.

Giving up dairy would be my weak spot, and funny...I had stopped using artificial sweeteners for about 5 years before surgery...I figured they weren't helping me lose weight... but since surgery I'm back on them in the name of weight loss...I do have a sweet tooth.

And from reading the book, at least so far, this is where the fruit comes in. Once you get rid of artificial sweeteners, and all added sugars, your body starts to see the natural sugars in the fruit as super sweet. So, once where a strawberry would be a bit tart and blah, after giving up all other sugars, it takes like the sweetest thing you've had. And really, it is, you know?

The dairy is going to be the hardest. Today I started by giving up my Sugar free coffeemate creamer here at work in favor of unsweetened almond milk. It's not great, but it's still coffee and I need it, lol.

Have you tried the Silk unsweetened Cashew Milk? They have it in both Plain and vanilla. I use it to make my chai latte... I find it much more palatable than almond milk....

Good morning all -

My scale is still barely moving. Only getting 0.2 pounds a day, better than nothing, but I was losing more than that during my pre-op diet. I wonder if I am losing slow because I lost so much prior to surgery.

QOTD: I owned a pipe and fitting wholesale store for 6+ years. That was enough for me. I had one employee for the first year or so, then I ran the whole operation solo. The store was open 6 days a week (Saturday I was only open until noon). I missed 1 day of work in those 6 years, and had to leave the store closed due to illness. I took one vacation in that 6 years and had my best friend keep the store open for the 4 days I was gone. I know that I would never want to open another store.

Menu:

Breakfast - premier protein shake, Light cranberry juice

Lunch - 3/4 cup cottage cheese

Dinner - Starkist ranch tuna pounch , 1/4 cup cottage cheese

Calories - 430, Protein - 70, Carbs - 19

Have a great day everyone!!

Happy Thursday menu friends! Grimberry date night sounds lovely. Enjoy!

I came down with a cold out of the blue yesterday afternoon. Sore throat, head pounding, body achy, and general whiny-ness. Took Nyquil and fell out like a light. Solved any evening snacking I might have done. LOL I am pretty sure Nyquil induced sleep is not a sustainable healthy plan to avoid evening snacking but man if it was it sure works.

Menu: B: Homemade Greek yogurt with granola; L: Bean-less chili; D: Bacon, egg, protein pancake; S: Bacon; ES: Bacon; Totals: Cal 1141, Protein 91, Carb 65; Fat 81
