Morning guys!
Yesterday flew by me, I had intended on making a morning post...then I ended up back at the eye doctor's office so they could double check the glasses I just got on Monday to make sure they were right because things looked weird to me. After 10 years of having no glasses (because LASIK) I'm back to needing them because I've developed a little myopia in one eye, and astigmatism (but no myopia) in the other one. Well...I've never had astigmatism before and when I put on the glasses things looked slightly wonky. We're giving them a couple days to see if it gets better...the optometrist said my brain has been automatically making the correction for me and it takes some time to catch up
QOTD: I didn't attend a traditional kindergarten, but was in a Montessori and here's what I remember 1) There was a bean pouring station where you could put beans in measuring cups and pour them and I loved it. 2) On the playground there was a tube slide that I really wanted to go down, but when I got to the top I was terrified and wouldn't slide...and I was scared of climbing back down so I just stayed there and when they called all the kids in from recess they noticed I was missing and had to come find me and help me down. 3) The Montessori was connected to a huge church and we were always fascinated by the bell tower and wanted to go see it, to keep us from doing that one of the volunteers (or a teacher...I don't actually know) told us Dracula lived in the bell tower and so we had to stay away from it. I was convinced that this was true and was terrified of it. This is something we still talk/joke about to this day...Dracula lives in church bell towers

I had forgotten how many fingerprints I get on them....I've had 10 years of freedom, and not needing to have clip-on-sunglasses....ugh.

Ohhhh I fear this :( I am DYING to get LASIK, though as I approach 40 this year, I did have an optometrist tell me I would soon need reading glasses GRRRR. I have horrible eyesight and wear daily contacts that seriously cost me like $700/year. I didn't know that you could have LASIK and then have bad vision again. Things to ponder...
I have terrible vision, and for several years my optometrist has asked if I am ready for LASIK. I also really need reading glasses. In the past year, I've gone from being able to read up close to having to hold something at arm's length to figure out what it says.
This is what my optometrist had to say about laser vision correction: you may develop the need for glasses again as you age, but usually the prescription is not anywhere near as strong. You also may be able to get a touch-up on your LASIK. He also cautions to go to an eye surgeon who exclusively does eye surgeries, rather than just someone who does a few a week for a cheap price.
I am to the point I would rather just wear reading glasses than fuss around with bifocals. My glasses already cost a lot, even with insurance, and contacts are not practical for me because I apparently don't blink enough and have a tendency to stare at the computer screen.

I had awful vision prior to LASIK, it was 100% worth it for me even if it was only perfect for 10 years.
I went from being horribly nearsighted to having perfect vision for the first time in 20+ years. The doctor who did mine specialized in corneal mapping, and he did warn me that as I approached my 40s (I'll be 40 this year) my eyes may require some assistance with reading and that I could develop a need for glasses again but like you said, at a very low prescription.
My current prescription is quite low, just a -1.00 in one eye, and then astigmatism (which I'd never had...ever in my life) in the other eye with 0.00 (so from an almost -7 once upon a time, to a -1....it seems quite slight!). I could go have my LASIK touched up, but honestly....it's cheaper for me to just have my low strength glasses.
Plus my new frames are adorable and I'm kind of digging having glasses again....if I get desperate to wear sunglasses I'll order contacts.

That is cool that you had a lot of good years. I am well into my 40s. My prescription changed quite a bit from year to year well into my early 30s, but the past several years it doesn't change much (except for needing reading glasses now).

My memories of kindergarten are really good. I remember running to the bigger kids playground when they were all in class.
Running and it felt fun to beat the other kids to the swings. I also remember there was a boy who had to always play with the crane that you could sit on. He never was told that he couldn't.
One of my best memories was if you had a birthday they would celebrate you would get something from the teacher. Mine was in the summer. So he gave me a piece of Bazooka Joe bubble gum. I can still remember the taste.
I can remember so far back from when I was a kid. Now ask me something from now. And I got nothing sometimes.
My menu is kind of off today. I am not feeling great. I have a headache. I will eat protein forward. Tonight when I get home I will post what I ate though.
Last night at our AA meeting it was celebration night. I was relieved when there wasn't a cake. One of the guys bought me a Little Debbie snack cake. I gave it away at the end of the meeting since I know I would have eaten it.
Have a good day
