What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
on 3/28/17 9:42 am
That is high for jerky, IMO. I usually see it between 1 - 3. But it all depends on how it fits into your overall day. Are you staying under 40-50/day?
Ya trying to stay under 50. Mostly no problem. The greek yogurt is actually mich worse at 9 grams carbs but I will look today for a lower carb jerky. Unfortunately it will not be the beautiful coin jerky which is not wrapped in foil.

Morning menu peeps!
QOTD: We went to visit his mother which was a three hour drive. Afterward we stopped at a fancy steakhouse that he had been talking about taking me to. It was his old favorite 'hometown' spot, he loved the food, it was so great...blah blah blah. At the end of the meal the server brought the check and he stood up and said, "I'm going to the restroom," and he points to the check and says, "I hope you brought your wallet," and walked away. I was sort of in shock. I mean, sure feminism and all that but he had asked me out and picked the place and I thought he was buying, right? So I am digging frantically in my purse and trying to remember how much available balance there is in my checking account at that moment as he walks back to the table, hands his card to the server, and sits back down. I am all flustered and he starts laughing, "I was just kidding." LOL This was the start of our great love affair.
Menu: B: Greek yogurt with homemade granola; L: Frozen leftover bean-free chili; D: Mozzarella slices, tomatoes, reduction, basil, and sausage; S: Cottage cheese; ES: Chobani Simply 100 Crunch
Accountability: No smoking, that is going great. Had a late night last night where I couldn't sleep and kept getting up snacking. On the bright side I really have cleared out danger/binge cracker type foods so I ate things like roasted edamame and sugar-free popsicles (15 calories, 0 fat, 0 sugar) but it still felt uncontrolled. Still lots of work to do. Weight is all good though so that is comforting, 122.8.
Hope you all have a great day!
~Elizabeth

"I am basically food's creepy ex-girlfriend. I know we can't be together anymore but I just want to spend time hanging out" ~me, about why I love cooking so much post WLS
Good morning!
TOMORROW IS MY BIG DAY!!! RNY at 7:00 am :)
QOTD- Hmm, my husband and I drifted into dating so I'm not sure. Our marriage lasted for 30 years so it's true love, but also a very unusual brand of love as I was just seventeen when we started spending time together and he was quite adult. Nothing technically illegal but it would be a big deal today! We've been separated since the fall of 2015, and I've started dating* recently. My first date with the guy I'm smitten with, was to a local grilled cheese chain, where we split a cheesy sandwich and a beer.
TOMORROW IS MY BIG DAY! Today, pre-op, I have two different orders. One says, "Clear liquids the day before surgery, cut off all liquids two hours prior to surgery", the second order, from my pre-admission meeting say's "No solid foods after midnight, no liquids after 5:00 am."
I'm splitting the difference, I celebrated a co-worker's 50th birthday this morning with a Belgian waffle and a side of bacon (and syrup! my last food funeral) and just to be sure I'll do a bowel prep tonight which my doctor doesn't require but it will assure my waffle hurries it's way along ;-)
Thus today's menu:
B - Belgian Waffle with butter and syrup, side of crispy bacon
MS - Stash Green chai tea with sweetner
L- flavored water
AS- Stash Green chai tea with sweetener
D- Bowel prep drink
ES - Crystal Ligh****er
water water water until 5 am :) I want them to be able to find a vein no problem!
*Yes, I'm legally married but separated, and dating. It's complicated. I love my husband, can't live with him, and staying married benefits him by allowing him on my healthcare benefits. Life is messy.
