What's on your Saturday Menu, RNYer?
welcome to the menu thread, weekend edition!
Busy weekend for me, but all fun stuff!
Last night we got together with family and celebrated my husband's cousin getting his Phd. It was really fun. Tonight we celebrate another cousin turning 30. And in between, I'm getting together with my sister to do some crafting and planning for my other sister's baby shower! Sunday if the weather is good, I'll drive up to my parents for more crafting! We're going to make diaper cake centre pieces for the tables!
qotd: in the course of 3 days, we went from spring temps, to a frostbite advisory, to a full snow storm. Will spring ever get here?? ( that's not the qotd ;))
Are you outdoorsy? Is there something you're itching to do? I love camping, and I'm super excited about trying things I couldn't/wouldn't do preop. Like kayaking! I'm also planning a couple of hiking trips. But to be honest, I'm most excited to just hang out in the back yard, get the BBQ going and plant our little garden! Are you into cycling? Water sports? Reading in the shade? I guess you can tell I've been Day dreaming of warmer days....
Menu:
B: 1 egg with ham or bacon and sliced tomato ( hitting up the neighborhood diner with my sister)
L: more leftover Indian food, probably!
D: tbd I'm not sure if we're eating at the pub where the party is or not... but if we do, it will be protein forward!
S: premiere protein. And if needed, skyr with bran buds.
hope you are having a great weekend so far!

My favourite sound in the world is driving up to the farm in the summer time with the windows down and hearing that first crunch of gravel as you leave a paved road. Sigh...

Good morning menu folks!
QOTD: I'm not outdoorsy but I do love to get out and garden in the spring. I went out yesterday and surveyed my yard and garden beds and they need alot of work before planting can begin. I was SO tempted to start doing cleanup, but it is just too much for my 3-week post-op body. I have a friend scheduled to come by in the next month to help do some bed prep so I can at least get a few things out this year.
Other than that, I've been drooling to get out and walk outdoors. I've been walking on the treadmill because it is truly low impact, but today a friend is joining me to walk at a local park. I am really excited to get out and enjoy a lovely day.
Breakfast: Mushroom-spinach egg muffin, 1 veggie sausage
SnacK: Apple Ecstasy protein shake
Lunch: Leftover tilapia, spinach
Snack: cottage cheese
Dinner: Slow Cooker Tikka Masala Chicken
Snack: SF popsicles
Exercise: 1 lap of the lake, 1.35 miles

Good morning everyone!
Last night I decided to stay home by myself and I ended up on the couch happily binge watching the new season of 'Grace and Frankie' on Netflix. I got about 5 episodes in before I called it a night, I think it's a fantastic show. Tonight we are meeting my sister and BIL for dinner, it's his birthday tomorrow, and I'm hoping the decision of where to go isn't a last minute one so I have time to check it out on line but I'll be prepared either way. He's a faithful burger orderer though so I'm not too worried that he's going to pick a place where my options are limited.
We are expecting a full weekend of rain which is always awesome news when you have a dog. As if spring wasn't messy enough without all the added mud ingredients. I've already put a pile of towels out by the door for post pee break clean ups. It's the complete opposite of yesterday which was a gorgeous day here. The car said it was 21 (70) and we were driving with a window down so we we're definitely thinking spring.
QOTD 100% yes. I grew up in the country climbing trees and playing all over the neighbors 100 acre farm. We were always off having some adventure and didn't go back inside until it was dark. As an adult my work was primarily outside and my body needs the fresh air to stay alert. Whenever I go to a course or conference type thing and we are forced to be inside all day those are tough days for me to function. In the summer months I rarely set foot in the basement and the TV collects dust. We spend our down time in the evenings or on the weekend either on the deck or in the pool. I like fancy sometimes but I'm comfortable roughing it too. This summer we're hoping for more time to go north to the hunt camp (very rustic old school house without indoor facilities), I want to get out on the bikes, go ATV-ing, join my sister and BIL for weekend hikes, try the zip-line at Niagara..... the list grows and grows!
B- coffee w/ 1/2 chocolate premier
L- turkey strips and guacamole
D- destination unknown...
S- 1/2 chocolate premier in coffees, homemade turkey jerky
Have a great weekend everyone!
Christine

I LOVE Grace and Frankie! Sounds like you need to get them all watched before the weather gets nice!
