Don't feel like you need to eat simple carbs like cream of wheat, toast, crackers, or anything similar just because they may be on our food plans. We do not need them, and they will slow your weight loss.

And just don't even start with popcorn-ever. LOL

Train yourself t be a rule follower. Blazing our own trail with food led every one us down the path to obesity. Don't experiment to see if you dump. Assume that you do and you will be better for it. Don't try the cupcake to see if you "tolerate" it. Don't eat larger portions to "see if you can". If you are supposed to eat 1/3 cup of food, eat 1/3 cup and the STOP EATING.

The absence of the "full feeling" does not equal "hunger" STOP CHASING THE FULL FEELING". We will never feel that sensation the same way after surgery. It can no longer be your comfort and security blanket.

Hi!

can you expand on this "different full feeling?" I'm about a month out and haven't really heard much about this. I'm sure it's a difficult feeling to explain, but do you have any other tips or ways to prepare for this?

thank you so much for sharing about this, and I hope to hear more!

As others have said, tracking is very very important! Also making sure you stay hydrated!

1. Do not compare your progress/lack of progress to ANYONE else. We all have individual bodies.

2. Do not get offended when you ask questions and do not get the answer you WANTED (Can I cheat on my pre op liquid diet? Can I eat a taco 2 days after open RNY? Can I order a pizza in the Recovery Room?)

3. Do not call people who have years of post op living experience "fat meanie pants", and block them (Refer to #2)

Constipation ain't no joke.

my clinic mentioned it kind of in passing, but this is something I need to manage on a daily basis. Use miralax/resorelax, supplement your fiber if needed.

Don't risk the trap of a possible bad transfer addiction. Don't drink alcohol ever.

Do not spend a ton of money on clothing during the losing phase, no matter how excited you are to be a size whatever!
