hmmm maybe short commute- maybe I would use those extra hours to do the things I really want that aren't work related?

so the power is back on- food didn't spoil yay - had to improvise on my food yesterday a bit but it rewarded me with a .5 loss. Been working on adding more protein into my diet as a boost and it seems to help.

Weight 118.2 today maintenance.

Food for today- coffee with bpi vanilla swirl protein, miralax, gizzards (had to get our of ice after power debacle), turkey sloppy joe, dinner i think i will make a roast as a change of pace in IP.

OH- does anyone have a nuwave oven and use it? I picked up one at a thrift store and the motor top was burned out I later found out. determining if i need to find a new motor top and use it. It can do a whole rotisserie type chicken thing... wondering if i could get to give oven a break and IP.

we have a new wave but haven't used it yet. We actually put it in storage a couple weeks ago and will be unpacking it in July when we move into the new house. I hope to give good feedback on that soon! I also want an Air fryer. I heard that was cool too!

We just got a deal on a new air fryer called the Big Boss through a special tv offer. Going to try it tonight with some chicken. It is pretty massive...trying to figure out where I can store it when not in use.

I say stay if you love your job. Another job may take up that four hours a day in your head. I guess we have to figure out if that is worth it.

I have been off about my eating. You would think after three years I would be able to not have old habits creep back in.

Stress could be the excuse. Everyone has stress. Some more than others. This morning I got on the scale and it was up. Not bad but up.

If we think we can eat like we used to. It is not true. The weight creeps up. Even if we just say I ate only one small piece of candy and not gain. I consider it like speeding and not getting caught.

So today I am back on track.

B:Coffee with cream

L:Ham and cheese with eggs no bread

D:Chicken with sausage and mushrooms. A dish I get all the time. No bread is coming near me today

S:Not sure if I need one. If I do it will be cheese

Have a good day

I bet a lot of us can relate to this. I've been struggling lately. I have no idea how I once ate 1000 (or fewer) calories!! Even keeping it under 1500 seems like a challenge some days (I'm in maintenance - 1500 seems to be the right balance for me to maintain my weight. This shouldn't be that difficult, but some days....)

Yikes! 4hrs worth of driving each day? I could not do it. One of my first jobs required a 20minute drive to work and a 3 hour drive home because of traffic. Never again. You may have the perfect job but your are sacrificing 20hrs a week of your own time getting to and from. Good luck today!

finally went in about my ankle yesterday. I keep spraining or straining it, and it's numb from my lower calf to my toes. They x-rayed it. There's a small fracture, but the radiologist said it looks like an old one - nothing recent (maybe from a bad "sprain" I had a few years ago that was actually a fracture, but no one x-rayed it back then??). So I must be just aggravating it with all these recent sprains and twists (it rolls all the time - ugh!!). There's a fair amount of swelling in there, which is probably causing the numbness. So they sent me home with a boot - and told me to let them know in four weeks if it hasn't improved. I'm supposed to stay off it as much as possible, which also means no water aerobics (I asked...). Boo! Yoga is OK, though.

QOTD: no way would I want a long commute (I have a friend with one like yours, JB - no way would I ever put up with that!!). Thirty minutes is about my limit. My husband is applying for a job 50 miles away. I know he really wants to get back into professional work again, but...ugh. I know a lot of people do it, but....ugh. I personally wouldn't.

21 months out

B: homemade Greek yogurt, fresh raspberries

S: coffee with half & half, protein/fiber mocha shake

L: chicken wrap (chicken breast, hummus, spinach, cucumber, tomatoes), 1/2 an apple

D: not sure. There's a staff appreciation at my husband's library tonight (he works part-time at the public library while between jobs). Hopefully they'll have something bariatric friendly - if not, I have a protein bar with me.....

Good morning JB and my peeps. Another morning, this one less stressful than yesterday. I made it into work before 8, so that is always a plus. I'm feeling very emotional today, though, and I may have had to wipe some tears while driving (on my hour+ commute). I am feeling some stress, but I'm optimistic and determined to get my **** together and get things done.

JBQOTD: So, I'm about 40 miles from my job, one way, and if I was able to just take a straight shot early, I could get here in 45 minutes. But I have to detour off to drop my kiddo off at my moms, so that adds just a little time to my commute. Usually if I stay at my mom's for 5 to 10 minutes to get the kiddo settled in, I make it to work in about an hour and 15 minutes. I left my house this morning at 6:30 on the nose and got to work at 7:45. That was with excellent traffic, no accidents and very little slow down. I do 65-70 MPH on a highway that is 55 MPH (that's pretty much going with the flow of traffic, so I'm not driving like a maniac) and 75 to 80 on a freeway that is 70 MPH. My commute is almost completely on freeway, and my car gets 32.4 MPG (I love that I can track it). Since I started working here in November, my fuel efficiency has gone up over a mile per hour. I like my job, and they pay me enough to make the drive. I think it's worth it if you like your job.

19.75 months since surgery and my weight this morning was 162 on the nose

I did not pack any food at all today. I have no plan really. I'll likely order a breakfast scramble from the deli downstairs for breakfast in a bit. It's just scrambled eggs with ham, onions, green pepper and cheese. No bread of potatoes. I'm not feeling particularly hungry today. Yay for loss of appetite with stress, right?

Lunch I'll see what other people are doing. There is usually at least one person ordering something. Worse case, I'll grab a salad from the deli downstairs.

Dinner I threw cracked pepper turkey loin in the crock pot this morning before I left the house. I got it from Aldi this weekend and I'm interested to see how it tastes, since it was pre-seasoned.

No totals yet, I'll log whatever I eat to the best of my ability.

I stayed up way too late last night (10:15pm) because my hubby turned on My 600 Pound Life at 8 and I couldn't stop watching it. It was such a great episode last night. did anyone else watch it?

Editing to add: JB, I would say that if you hate the commute that much, you might want to start looking for something else. You MAY find something that you love that will work for you, and you don't have to leave unless you find the perfect job. There is no harm in looking.

Nothing wrong with shedding a few tears Deanna. It's much better than stuffing your face with food which would have been what I would have done before surgery. My hubby has learned the hard way that prior to surgery if I was mad at him I'd eat --now I just tell him I'm mad and why. Point blank and to the point and tend to do that with others too. I guess you could say I am now a skinny ***** A lot less emotional stress though.
