Anti-inflammatory alternatives???
I did a 2.5 mile jog on Monday afternoon and then yoga. Since then, my lower back, where my hip joints meet my spine is killing me. Sitting and standing are both miserable, laying on my stomach/side helps. Tylenol isn't touching the pain. I am thinking of making a DR's appointment, but knowing I can't do anti-inflammories, not sure what he can do to help. Any suggestions? I am going to do a heating pad at my desk today and I have some Deep Blue Essential oil I am using.

I don't have advice on drugs but I think you should probably consider ice instead of a heating pad? Ice is better to reduce swelling in an acute injury. Heat is better for a long term muscle pain or stiffness. Since the pain sounds like it is in your joints, I'd try ice to reduce the swelling. Homeopathic Arnica gel is also my best friend for reducing swelling and pain. Hope you feel better soon!
Definitely agree on the ice. One time I when I overdid it, I used a heating pad. It felt great while the heat was on, but as soon as I took it off, the paid was 100 times worse. I guess I added to the swelling. I'm very cautious about using heat on a strain now.

Definitely ice instead of heat. Of all the things since surgery, I miss my advil most of all...lol. They can prescribe other things, but nothing works as well, IMO. Probably ice and rest are the best you are going to get, unless there is an injury done other than muscle strain. Sorry. :(

I was feeling something very similar over the weekend. I went to my chiropractor yesterday and she adjusted me and now I am pain free. My pelvis/hip flexors were out. I hope you feel better, being in pain is the worst!
I have been taking Turmeric and Bromelain for the last two weeks due to arthritis in my right knee and left shoulder. This is the brand I take turmeric bromelain
I honestly was skeptical because it is all natural, but the difference I felt in just a couple of days was amazing. I haven't had any issues of any kind except the pain in my knee is 100% gone and the my shoulder is about 95%, but the shoulder is a lot worse than the knee. Not saying this will help, but it is a natural anti-inflammatory.
Turmeric here, too. I am taking 2000 of whatever the dose is. Also Tylenol Arthritis which I have just recently started. I have a very bad knee and some general arthritis. But boy, do I miss my NSAID.
