What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
When I was actively farming a couple years back, we would have the occasional Vegan guest. I was basically cooking with our farm raised chicken, eggs, dairy products from our goats (yogurts, cheeses, milk etc). It was HARD to find a vegan meal that everyone would really enjoy! I ended up canning a lot of our black beans, and I'd make black bean tacos using store bought taco mix and lettuce leaves for the shells.
For vegetarian meals I make a TON of frittatas! like a couple of times a week... eggs, milk, cheese, some beans, maybe a few diced peppers...

Happy Hump Day,
It is soooo cold here this morning in CT. When I was walking to work the snow squalls started coming down and the wind was so powerful it blew me a little in the opposite direction. It's supposed to get progressively colder and windy as the day goes on.
Weigh in this morning: 181.2! I go to see the doctor at my surgeon's office this afternoon.
QOTD: I loved the swings and the merry-go-round thingy on the playground. I loved hopscotch too.
MENU:
COFFEE, COFFEE, COFFEE with creamer at home, and half/half creamer at work.
Breakfast: 1 whole egg & 1 egg white, fried, with 1/4 cup of 2% mozzerella shredded cheese, 2 deli ham slices, and 2 tablespoons of salsa.
Lunch: 1/2 cup of Eggface's Ricotta bake (delicious)
Snack: 2 Tbsp of regular Peanut butter (I've been dying for this) I have the measuring spoon

Good morning all -
I think I have my food all figured out now until I'm able to get to my next phase so I can once again post my plan for the day instead of what I ate the day before.
QOTD : I loved the metal merry go round, spent a lot of time on the swings, and loved playing freeze tag and kick the can.

Good afternoon. Darn you stole my favorite playground item. I used to spin my brother on those things until he puked. Reminds me of the movie Space Cowboys and the centrifuge scene. Except the day my mom punished me for sending my brother flying through the air and getting him all cut up. I miss those days ;)
B - Fage yogurt and .3 oz nuts
L - 1/2 cup miso soup, 3 to 4 oz Sashimi and small amount of spicy mushrooms (easy oil). A friend is about to pick me up to take me to lunch (so my lunch became my afternoon snack below - knocked out my protein shake, but numbers add to about the same macros).
S - Costco Chicken burger
D - Small salad and low sodium turkey (3 oz)
S - SF popsicles

Happy Wednesday gang! I am back from visiting my RNY doctor. No answers but more tests ordered. He is referring me to gastroenterology doctor and scheduling me for an endoscope. Wheee! Bright side...
- Swelling seems less today which means it has stopped getting worse.
- He didn't admit me to the hospital so I must be stable and generally going to be ok.
- He does think I have an ulcer type thingy in my small bowel based on the CT so there is at least some theory afoot.
- He confirmed that my heart seems to be stable, whatever this is is likely unrelated.
- Finally....I get to see Pam soon!!!! That makes everything better.
Menu: Nothing exciting, feeling nausous and blah. B: Egg whites and whole wheat english muffin (Starbucks version on the way to doctor this morning); L Greek yogurt, granola; D: Shrimp with pico de gallo S: Grapefruit, sugar free pudding
Accountability: Still smoke free! It has been tough and also having to see all the docs has been like uber accountability. Goodness knows I don't want them to write me off as not being adherent. Weight is 129 today, down 3 pounds from the worst of the swelling. Hoping that keeps improving.
EDIT to add: Swings...definitely the swings with someone to push for me. Perfect mix of fear of falling, loss of control, and co-dependency. It was predicting what would be pretty much my ideal romantic relationship in childlike form. :)

Glad that things are improving and you're still smoke free. That's impressive. Bonus good news that your meet up is happening too, so cool.
