GrimBerry works - love it!

QOTD: 2 big life-changing events in the last year. March of last year we found out DH's job was being eliminated. It was a very stressful time, but fortunately he was able to find a job in the same organization that he really likes but instead of having a 1.5 mile commute he now has a 30 mile commute so even though his pay rate remained the same we actually took a net pay cut. This was all taking place at the same time of my 2nd big life-changing event - WLS in early June last year. During DH's work transition I was in the midst of final prep, doc appts. etc. for my surgery. Surgery and post-op has all gone smoothly. I'm about 15-20 lbs. from "my goal" and hope to make it there before our 40th anniversary trip the end of May, but if not, I'll keep chipping away at it. I only have 5 lbs. to a "normal" BMI, but want to have a buffer.

B: Protein Coffee

L: Tuna Ranch packet, string cheese

S: 1/2 c LnF Greek Yogurt, 1/2 scoop protein powder, 1T PB2

Wish my cold or allergies or whatever would let up. I'm so tired of the drippy nose. Lily and I have our 3.2 miles in already today. QOTD definitely my weight loss surgery 41/2yearsagoand adopting my boxer Lily about 2years ago. She gives hubby and I so much love and saves me from my lazy self every day. If it weren't for her I know I wouldn't be so faithful about exercise every day. Another life changing thing was getting the camper. The WLS gave me the pep and energy I needed and the camper gives the means to get to the places I want to go. It has all been so much fun and summers not even here yet. Post op 4 years 6.5 months and weight at 117 today. Here's the food plan in maintenance B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1/2 c shrimp salad 1/2 c chopped tomatoes D 31/2 oz baked chicken thigh 1/2 c Tuscan veggie blend S mission one chocolate brownie protein bar. Have a great day everyone and make some smart and conscious choices that move you one step closer to your goal!

Good morning everyone!

I am officially at 2 weeks post op and get to add in puréed and soft foods. I am super nervous about it. While I am excited for the variety and to be moving forward, I also have gotten attached to my liquids. Moving toward regular foods means that I have to be very vigilant not to make the wrong choices. When you have failed at every diet you've ever done, it's easy to self doubt your ability to make the right choices. My liquids are feeling like a security blanket I'm not sure I want to let go of just yet. Going to move into purées nice and slow:

B: 2 tbls Fage Zero

S: 8oz Chocolate Unjury + Fairlife Milk

L: 2 tbls Fat Free Refried Beans

S: 8oz Chocolate Unjury + Fairlife Milk

S: Crystal Light + Unflavored Unjury

D: 2 tbls baked cod

I think we can all relate to that fear, but the fact that you are thinking about it at all means that you are making a new commitment to the right choices! Keep logging everything so that you know what you are eating and you'll be great.

I found liquids easy too and when it's easy and it works there's going to be hesitation to make a change. Starting slow is a good plan, much better than rushing into eating things that you're insides aren't ready for. Ignore the self doubt, you can do this!

My program didn't have us do purees. We went right from liquids to soft foods really well chewed. Which was a good thing. I would much rather have done protein shakes for another 2 weeks than put food in a blender.

Yah- I don't quite get blending 2 tablespoons of food. I'm going to stick to things that don't require much blending, more like mushing. There are a lot of things on my Dr's list that fall into that category.

Yup. My doc's office was all like "if you can sma**** with a plastic fork, go ahead and give it a try"... I never once pureed anything... I couldn't make myself do it
