What's on Your (PHOTO) Friday Menu, RNYers?
Good Morning everyone! Happy St. Patrick's Day! I am half Irish....my best half, lol!
Haven't been around for quite a long time but I really need the support and accountability. I have been stuck at the same weight for a couple months and need to get that scale moving again. I just had my 9 month check at the doctor (nurse's office, since I don't see the doctor now unless there is an issue) and everything was great. I have lost 80% of my excess body fat. It was a new nurse and she basically told me that although my "goal weight" from them was 140 lbs. that I did not need to reach that weight if I felt healthy at my current weight. What the !**@! My BMI is still at overweight and although I feel great, I am not happy at the current weight. Is it just me? I am only 5'2".
I am getting more exercise in since I got the ok from physical therapy last month...I had a rotator cuff surgery in October and it was torn severely and have been in PT for months now(just finished). Am hoping that the increased exercise will help with my stall. I did a lot of snow shoveling the last 3 days due to that blizzard. We got 4 1/2 feet of snow and have been buried, lol.
QOTD: I don't have any childhood dolls or stuffed animals.
Thanks in advance for listening to my long post.

Welcome bac****ep at it. I know you've heard this before but this is the best time to lose. It really really gets harder after a year, so take this opportunity to really examine what you are doing and make changes to your menu. Try doing zero carbs for a week to kickstart things! Increase your water! Get back to weighing everything and tracking every bite in MyFitnessPal. There are no magic solutions--just the same old advice but it is what works for the people who stay successful.
Thank you for the great advice, JB! I need to do all those things because I truly want to be successful long term and reach my goal...and maintain it. Thanks you for the very sweet kick in the butt...I needed it!?

Questions: Is it worth getting the premium MyFitnessPal for the macro nutrients etc?

Morning!
JB : I'm sorry about the floods and fires. My mom lost her childhood home to fire over 50 years ago (and a brother and grandfather) Events like that reverberate for years. My mother is not sentimental about stuff at all now. She can let anything go. Also all the negatives for any photos we, or my aunts took over the years would be stored in someone else's house, as back up. And now, we rely on a cloud back up of all of our images. Some of her siblings went the other way, and are super attached to items.
im a lot like her that way, I'm not too attached to stuff. But to answer your qotd, my grandmother has a few of my toys. She used to babysit me when my mom went back to work, and I spent a lot of my childhood there. She keeps my cabbage patch doll Ruby in her spare room, along with a Barbie horse, and some glamour Barbie, who looks like she's been to one too many after parties...
My pics of the day is from a few past st-paddys. and I'll be meeting friends again today! There's a couple of Friends I been celebrating with for over 20 years!
Menu:
B: protein shake
L/D : tbd, I'll be at the pub. I know their regular menu has tons of options for me, but sometimes they have a special event menu.

HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY JB and Menu Family!
JB, I'm so sorry about the flooded storage unit and your parent's house fire! How awful!
That reminded me about our car fire. Saralisa and I were traveling to a broadway musical in another town and we stopped and filled up with gas and got food at a gas station in Omaha, NE. It was going to be Saralisa's turn to drive so we decided to eat our sandwiches in the car first so she wouldn't have to drive through Omaha traffic and try to eat at the same time. As we were sitting in the car eating at the gas station our car suddenly burst into flames! Within seconds the whole car went up in flames and when it was finally put out by the fire department, all that was left of our car was a metal shell. It burned the seats, the dash, my purse, all our money, everything! We are SO lucky we got out of the car and that it didn't explode with the full tank of gas we had just put into it! We are also very blessed that it didn't catch on fire while we were driving in the middle of 6 lanes of traffic because I doubt we could've gotten pulled over and out of the car in time. We had been smelling a faint odor of smoke as we were driving and I thought maybe a belt was going out or something, but anyway, I was praying the whole trip for our safety and I truly believe God protected us and saved us from that fire!
Saralisa and I recently had our DNA tested and Saralisa is 13% Irish and British but I don't know how much of that comes from my side or how much is from her father's side. The DNA place lost my DNA sample so they are sending me another test so it will be a while before I know my results.
QOTD: I have a doll collection that was my mother's when she was a little girl. My grand parents added dolls from foreign countries to the collection as I was growing up.
B: bacon & spinach egg frittata
L: homemade chili
D: stuffed peppers
S: Light n Fit Greek yogurt
S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks
Exercise: Walking Blossom around the subdivision
Have a fun Saint Patrick's Day and a great weekend everybody!
~ Karen
