Lightheadedness
Yes. I made up the word lol.
But here lately, if I'm standing for too long: doing dishes or taking a shower, I feel like I am going to pass out. I have to sit down and literally calm myself down. I don't understand this.
It has never happened before but it's happening pretty often now.
Is this normal? I'm kind've nervous.
Could be your body ridding itself of And or adjusting/to the anesthesia from surgery. I recall being extremely lightheaded/dizzy after my thyroidectomy.
Could be low blood pressure. Are you on meds?
Are you meeting protein goals?

Are you getting enough protein and fluids? Either of those could cause the faintness. It also could be low blood sugar or low blood pressure.
I hope you figure out what the cause may be!

I had this quite often the first few weeks. Carb detox, hormone dumping, low blood pressure, dehydration, all can make your body do wacky stuff. Are you drinking enough? I'd bring it up at your next check-in with the doc.
P.S. I think lightheadedness is a real word! -- :)

It took me a LONG time to get my energy up. I am six months post-op (you are two weeks...), I just recently started having a lot of energy. Oh, and you had a big surgery.
I agree with all of the above, being kind of a newbie myself. If you are on blood pressure meds make sure you are monitoring your BP. If you are diabetic, make sure you are testing your blood sugar. Get enough protein and water. And call your surgeon's office.
But also make sure you are getting enough rest.

I had VSG but I do have issues with "lightheadedness". I saw the doctor who pretty much pinned my episodes down to low blood pressure. My pressure was great before the surgery and it is even lower now. The moment I decided to call my PCP was....
I was asleep on the couch and the hubby called asking if I would unlock the door. I popped up took the few steps to the door, unlocked it, turned around, took two steps and blacked out. I crumpled onto the floor. I came to quickly because the pencil in my hand that poked me in my leg (didn't break skin though). Scary crap!!
The doctor suggested I get up slowly from lying to sitting and then from sitting to standing. Hope you get your issue resolved.
I'm a newbie, but had my surgery 9/26. I still have it, especially getting out of my car to walk from my parking lot to the office. Not quite as often, but usually in the a.m. before I've gotten very much water intake or food in my system.
