What's on Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning guys!
Thanks for all the well wishes yesterday and supportive messages. Because we only did half the planned procedure yesterday I was able to come home once I was functional enough. I spent the night in our recliner, or taking laps around our downstairs. The gas pain is better today...I think the worst was under my diaphragm...which transferred to my shoulder. The Oxy makes the discomfort bearable but I'm definitely moving slowly! I'll be seeing my doc in 2 weeks for a follow-up and we'll discuss rescheduling the RNY then....she was thinking June-ish. The biggest disappointment to me in all of this is that we will have to delay getting our puppy. We were going to be getting a puppy mid-summer, so I'm going to have to email the breeder and ask if we can be put in for the next litter. I'm going to have to endure several months of puppy fever...boo!
QOTD: We are huge Disneyphiles in this house....it's hard for me to pick one movie as my favorite. If we're talking modern animation then its Wreck it Ralph. Old school animation is probably Sleeping Beauty. I also love Newsies...not animated of course, just a musical but I saw it in the theater.
Menu today is flexible....I'm allowed to have solid food so I know there will be some Eggface Ricotta Bake in there, but currently I'm SO happy that I got SF popsicles beforehand because they are magical on my throat....which is super sore from the trach-tubes!
Have an awesome day all!

Sorry I missed what happened!? Why no revision?
- High Weight before LapBand: 200 (2008)
- High Weight before RNY: 160 (2015)
- Lowest post-op weight: 110 (2016)
- Maintenance Weight: 120 (2017-2019)
- Battling Regain Weight: 135 (current)
There was a crazy amount of scar tissue around my band and port, an they had to fight to get it out...apparently the doctor who put it in stitched it quite well and it stubbornly refused to let go. This was also complicated by an artery that was twisting through the scar tissue, so there was a lot of bleeding. It took them 2+ hours to get the band and port out, and with all the tugging and bleeding and scar tissue where my staple line needs to be the doc decided to let me heal up first before going forward with the RNY portion of the surgery

Wow so sorry that happened. That was a fear when I went in for revision, too. Glad you are healing up, though. June is around the corner :)

Thanks - I'm really glad I was made aware of the possibility of it beforehand, the psych and I talked about it and I made peace with the idea months ago. I'm just going to keep at it like I've been doing and I'm sure June will be here before I know it!

I'm really sorry this setbac****urred, but your outlook here is perfect! You're right, June will be here before you know it, and in the meantime, letting your stomach heal is best. Hang in there!

Thanks! For years my mom tried to impress upon me that there's no sense in getting all bent out of shape over things you can't really control, it's nice to realize that it sank in
I'm committed to doing this, and this is just a small obstacle in the grand scheme of things.
Also I heard back from the puppy breeder and there's going to be a fall litter that I can put myself in for.....yayyyyy!!
