Good morning! I got back from my business trip at 9 last night after a few plane delays so I'm tired. JB, when I used to run (many years ago), the 2 most important things (and hard to get right) were the shoes and the running bra. I sweat a lot when I run so I had to have a super-tight wicking bra or I'd end up with my skin all broken down. No over the head bras for me: they had to hook (if stretchy enough to go over my head they would shift too much on my skin).

QOTD: I also am a 101 Dalmations fan. When my dogs get barky at night I call it the "twilight bark".

So glad to be home to my normal food, though I did okay with eating other than 2 cookies (1 per day). There was a ton of food, but I just ate at my regular times and had protein mostly (except the cookies).

B: eggbeaters and cottage cheese, English muffins and peanut butter

L: leftover ahi tuna

D: out to dinner for my birthday with friends (DH and SIL in Florida, where I will be on Saturday -- kids working)

S: almonds, nut thins and hummus

All my best sports bras for really bouncy stuff have been in the category I like to think of as the "sport corset." Over the head? Hah!

Good morning!

QOTD: I am a huge Disney fan. One of my favorites is also Little Mermaid (my daughter is named Ariel :) ). We also LOVE the new Moana (if you haven't seen it, you must!) We can hardly wait until tomorrow to go see Beauty and the Beast. My 3 year old keeps asking me if it is Friday yet for that very reason!

Menu:

m1- protein shake with fair life milk

m2- puree chicken, rotel, queso, and refried beans

m3- protein shake with fair life milk

m4- leftover m2

m5- probably leftover again

I am making small portions (like 2 oz) but still can't come close to finishing. If I stop and wait like 5 minutes I could eat a few more bites, but I am unsure as to if I should eat more (try to get my protein up) or stop immediately when I get that full feeling and not pick back up my spoon. I feel like it is impossible but to get a few grams of protein in with actual food right now. So most of my protein is just from the shakes but that is getting me right at 60g. But my clinic would like me to get to 80 g now.

Oh and I forgot to add...I had my husband hide my scale because I was getting very frustrated with it not moving down and even fluctuating up at some points. So no weighing for me for a week....it may kill me!

My surgeon recommended not weighing more than one time a week in the losing phase so that was what I did. Once I got to maintenance I now weigh daily so there are no surprises.

It took me a long time to be able to get my protein in from solid foods. Some programs expect you to be on a shake 1-2 times a day for a year to get it in. I also couldn't eat that much (2oz) for a long time. Even now, I measure out 2.5-3 ounces, and there are meals that I don't fini**** depending on how the dense protein feels that day (and other meals/days that I can eat a full 4ounces if I measure out that much). So, don't be hard on yourself right now about that. Just keep using your shakes to get to your goals is my opinion on it.

I had to weigh daily from the get go. The only days I've missed are being away from my home scale... it's so different for each person, and you'll figure out what works best for you with that scale!

I got in 80 from the get-go - maybe by the third day home from the hospital. I got most of it via shakes since I couldn't eat very much at that point.

Happy Thursday! Have a sick husband at home- you would think he is dying and it is just a head cold. If I felt his head once, I felt it 20 times. No honey, you don't have a fever. HEHE So glad he went to bed early. Hopefully he feels better today and the fever fear is over.

QOTD: Not a fan of disney movies. My uncle took me to see Bambi as a little girl and I ran out screaming and that sums up my disney watching. I did have a teacher in high school that threatened to fail me if I didn'****ch Aladdin, so I protested, bu****ched. My boys never got into them either. They would rather watch the Three Stooges and Smokey and the Bandit.

B: Breakfast casserole

L: Mexican Casserole (finally had it last night after planning to have it all week)

D: Not Sure- maybe some baked chicken

S: Cutie/ cottage cheese
